As promised, since items went over $40, I am offering a bonus, the winners choice of a solid sterling silver kitty collar charm.
As you can see, I wasn't working alone!

The bottom charm is just to show off what Robyn custom made for Bear, decreeing her an Honorary Puddin. It is really pretty because it sparkles and it's light enough for her to wear, but large enough to be seen. Thought everyone might enjoy seeing it.

Auction for Jody

This auction is for Jody Harmon. You can read all about Jody on the Cat Blogosphere and on her blog, Cat Eyes. We have several great donations on the Cat Blogosphere, will be auctioning those later this week.
Danielle is currently auctioning two really nice brand new cat/pet beds on her blog, be sure and check those out.

This auction is for a gorgeous crocheted kitty afghan and collar charm. The size is 26" square. The yarn is acrylic and in a beautiful mix of natural, deep tan, aqua and sage. The winner will be getting a brand new, never used, afghan.

The charm is by Robyn of Hot(M)BC. The stone is a faceted aqua aura. It is a beautiful, sparkling stone, one of my favorites. There is a tiny bali bead at the top and then the fish charm. The entire charm is about 1" in length. Attached are both a clip ring and a split ring.

If you remember, when I announced the auction, originally there two afghans. While attempting to take photographs, KC claimed one as her own!

She has been inseparable from this, even so far as to drag it to a different room!

Hmmm, I wonder where KC is??? I don't see her, do you?
When I first saw these afghans, I thought of Meezer colors.
However, they sure look good on KC and Missy.

Warrior Wednesday?

KC got my attention making a strange "chittering" noise....
She was trying to climb the walls to get to something...
... then I noticed a Mosquito Hawk wayyyyy up high!
Unfortunately, it decided to land on the floor - big mistake!

KC quickly cornered and ate her prey.

Monday

Yesterday, I dislocated the lower portion of my right leg trying to re-position 200+ pounds of dead weight (i.e., Charley, who is paralyzed on one side). Basically, as I tried to heave him forward, part of my leg turned at the knee and the other part didn't.
After about an hour of having the leg drawn up (bent at the knee), I managed to un-pop it. Have since been told this was not the thing to do! Anyway, the doctor is talking about surgery to shorten the tendons, etc etc. All of which would mean a lot of bed rest and crutches, which is out of the question.
Bear is doing great, her appetite isn't what it was, but she'll survive (hee hee). Also, found out she would do anything for Temptations. Missy and KC are fine, too. In fact, KC got a scratching post like Daisy, just have to take some photos to display.
Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes for Bear, and now (sigh) for me!

Saturday

First, Bear looks much better this morning, and yes, she did poop, so things are getting back to normal.

Second, we just got back from the Houston Cat Hospital. When I went to walk Bear, Yellow Cat was pressed up against our front door, with his little paws against it, meowing. He is in KIC (Kitty Intensive Care) and there is about a 50% chance he will not make it.

Yellow Cat is a gorgeous baby tomcat, golden stripes with huge golden eyes, probably about 5-6 months old. Somebody dropped him off about three weeks ago and he's been sitting on the windowsill talking to KC every day. We have been feeding him, hoping someone could give him a good home.

Friday

Update: Bear ate her first food, a few tablespoons of chicken babyfood (the kind without onion powder). Still no poop, that's probably tomorrow. I gave her the second dose of codeine cough syrup, which the vet gave her to handle the congestion and pain. Hopefully, she will be out cold and I can get a few hours sleep.

Also, she didn't cough all day long until I took her out to walk. She sniffed the ground and started with the cough. Deb (Taylor CatSSSSS) had suggested it could be allergy instead of a heart problem. She just may be right (fingers crossed).

Bear is doing -- and looking -- much better today. She is walking around more, still hasn't eaten, but she is drinking lots of water. She wanted to go visit her friend Tazz, next door, first thing this morning.

The vet said she would feel really bad after the surgery for about twelve hours, then she would gradually start to feel better than she has in months.

The good news is the cough -- she hasn't coughed in hours! Hopefully, the cough was caused by the teeth and NOT by some hidden heart problems.

I stayed up with her all night, she slept. The only way she could get comfortable (at least that's her version of the story) was to sleep on me, holding her up, so her head was elevated. Otherwise, she would cough and choke. I finally got a couple of hours sleep this morning, once she could curl up and sleep without choking.

The pictures I took last night really scared me, she looked and felt so bad, I was afraid for her.

Bear's Surgery Went GREAT!!!!!

UPDATE: Bear just got home, here she is, kind of drugged up. She has a heart echo scheduled for 3/23 because the fluid in her lungs is not pneumonia. But that's a few days down the road, right now she needs to sleep and rest.
Thank you, Cat Blogosphere, for all your prayers, support and purrs. I know they made the difference.

Please keep little Bear in your prayers and thoughts today. She is having surgery to mend several large perforations caused by abcessed teeth and extract the teeth. Without the surgery, she will die in a month or so.

The vet says her chances look good, as all her vitals are great for a 17-year old. The only risk is that her lungs are full from the pneumonia.

Bear has been at the vet since 8 am and still no surgery. They called once to ask if the antibiotic had made a difference in her cough and to evaluate the cough today versus before the antibiotic.
It is 2:00 pm Central time and Bear is in surgery, the vet will call as soon as he finishes up.
Bear is waking up from surgery, doing great and will be ready to go home about 6 pm Central!!! :: exhales ::

It's Widebody Wednesday and that means Missy!

Tuesday

Bear and KC slept side by side for some of the day. Bear's test results showed her white count was only slightly elevated. So she is on for surgery Thursday.

And Missy wasn't very far away, up on the desk.

Monday

Bear isn't feeling great, but she finally ate supper.

Opened the pantry and surprise - look who's on Charley's shelf!

This is KC's newest favorite hidey spot.
******
Thanks so much everyone for all the prayers and words of encouragement, I know they helped Bear and will help us this week thru the upcoming surgery.

Bear is very sick...

Bear is in the emergency animal hospital because, early this morning, she could not breath. The intial diagnosis was a severe case of pneumonia and abcessed teeth, which had perforated thru the gum into the nasal passages.

I had taken her to another vet two weeks ago for the cough, and was given pills for lung disease due to old age!

Friday afternoon update: The vet called. Bear does have pneumonia and they will treat her for that. Later next week she will have surgery to repair the perforations and remove the bad teeth.

Saturday update: We got to bring Bear home late Friday night on a watch-and-see basis. Her appetite is not good, but the coughing has almost stopped. She is having trouble with her back legs, they seem to "run away" from her sometimes. After getting thru this, the next step is surgery. Just hoping she is up to it.

Since his arrival, Theo has been an active part of our household.

Somewhat camera shy, Theo allows a photograph after assisting with some details of Squillions History on the Cat Blogosphere.
