Mancat Monday - The Aftermath

This is the first picture taken after the boys got back home.
Sol and BJ are sleeping...
biggify to see the shaved spot on BJ's right back leg where the IV went.

Smokey wants to be left alone in his bed with a few toys.

A few hours later, Smokey is figuring out how to walk on the ceiling...
he did make it over the door frame to the cabinets on the other wall.
Sol watches in the foreground.
One way to tell Smokey from BJ...
Smokey's under-pits are white.

Thankful Thursday - Coming Home

Sol was brought out first and stayed in the big carrier...
... while ol' BJ tromps through the exam room....
Smokey was brought in last...
... and was the least radical of the three. If you notice the cardboard carrier in the photo below,
the plan was one boy per carrier box.
It took BJ all of 20 seconds to chew and claw his way out.
Smokey simply collapsed his from the inside out.
Sol was in the fabric carrier, but so determined to get out
Leslie tie-wrapped the double zipper to keep him from opening it.
Using two borrowed reinforced plastic and wire crates,
with extra tie wraps at crucial points, we finally got the boys crated.
We made it out of the exam room to the check out counter.
Then the peeing began, shooting sideways out of the crates.
It couldn't have been an accident. (sorry, no photos)
The boys were definitely making a statement.
Annette, patient saint that she is, took each crate
and soggy cat to the back and cleaned them up.
Finally we got the crates outside and loaded into the back seat of the car.
We weren't out of the parking lot and the peeing started again.

Once home, I cleaned three smelly, disgusting cats.
Scrubbed down and cleaned the backseat of the car.
Hosed and cleaned the borrowed cages.
I fed the little traitors. They curled up on their favorite down quilt,
sound asleep, looking like little angels.
Anyway, they are home and they are healthy.
Glad you only go through this one time.

Weights: Sol 9.06, Smokey 7.05, BJ 8.08 & Lil Faith-Boo 6.03.

The kittens favorite place to watch TV and nap
is ready for the homecoming later today.
(Very sad to see it so quiet and empty)
KC has been looking for them, crying and me-owing.

We can pick them up around 3 PM (central).
They are getting vaccinated and Dr. Smith wants to watch them for a few hours.
We'll have lots of photos and statistics on each kitten.
Also, we will get their reactions to their "surprise"!

Please keep Miral, Momo, and Lilly Lu,
who are all very ill, in your thoughts and prayers today,
and Hottie's Grandma Cat, who is having a heart procedure.

The 24-hour Purrs & Purrayer Vigil
with chatzy room continues at the PPP Bloggy.
Tonight is the Monthly Purrayer Circle.
9pm EST (8pm CST, 7pm MST, 6pm PST)

Go light a candle for our furriends.
Sanjee set up a cat group for the Cat Blogosphere (PURR),
and it currently has 48 candles from six countries.

Purrayers & Purrs....

Sol, Smokey, BJ & Faith are going to the Houston Cat Hospital at 7 AM to have hoo-haa-ectomies and a ladiegarden-ectomy. They will be spending the night so they can be monitored after anesthesia. The house will be so empty tonight.
I am a nervous wreck.

UPDATE! 11:30 AM Central
Dr. Smith just called, she is getting ready to do
the hoo-haa-ectomies on the three boys.
Faith has a URI and will be treated for that;
her surgery is rescheduled for next week.
They have all been micro-chipped.

UPDATE! 3:00 PM Central
Spoke with the vets office, the boys are very groggy
from the anesthesia but all did very well.
Faith is on medication for the URI and improving.
They will all be coming home tomorrow afternoon.

***********************
Tomorrow we'll have a special post of the kittens "homecoming",
from the Cat Hospital to the House.
They can tell us how much they enjoyed their "surprises"!

***********************

Please keep beautiful Miral in your thoughts and prayers today.
She is growing very weak.
See how Ruis keeps Miral warm while she rests.

Momo was lost overnight Tuesday, found Wednesday in her garden.
She is very ill, on an IV drip and "toxic". Please pray for her.

Then she and Daddy Charley were talking about hoo-haa-ectomies for us guys and a ladygardenectomy for Faith. Sounds like some kind of special surprise. Now it's off to Veronica's for her Birthday Party today... the cornish game hen and the rest of the dinner is cooking... stop by and get a party favor like mine:

Mancat Monday Trouble & an Award

ML: Happened to glance up and look what I saw....
... hmmmmm, three mancats on the cabinets. But why?
Wait, is there something beside that big basket of fake ivy?
Do you see it? Looks like Faith-Boo! (biggify, if needed)
Hmmm. This may be hoo-haa-ectomy week for the boys.
They have suddenly shown an extraordinary interest in Faith-Boo
.

Update: Wednesday is the day!
Sol, Smokey & BJ will have hoo-haa-ectomies and
Faith will have a ladiegarden-ectomy!
They will be going to the Houston Cat Hospital
with the wonderful Dr. Kathleen Smith and her amazing staff.
(I'm still going to worry, though!)

Gotted this really nice award from Sanjee who wrote on hers bloggie: Dr Tweety made dis noo award and he sez "it iz to honor doze cats dat has not only a deep intellygence but also egg-zippits a BIG amount of Grace by helpin' otherz." It was furry furry nise of Dr. Tweety to gif this to Mommy. She does try to help out lots. But she 'mmediately said, "But Mommy ML does at least as much werk to help out kitties and the CB as I do!" And dat's troo. So Mommy is gifin this award to Mommy ML and the Sherwood Gang, cuz the Cat Blogosphere bloggy mite not exist at all wifout there helps n grace n telligents!"

Wow, we's really honored to 'cept this (yummy looking fish) award from Sanjee & Mom Robyn, it means so much comin from them. we loves tha Cat Blogosphere so much it doesn't seem like work. As Eeyore said, "...fanks fur noticing me!" (and Mommy ML, too, hee hee)

i's gonna pass this award onto Diva Kitty & DKM. Besides having a great blog that's fun to read, when money is needed, they make squiggles an snuggles to encourage donations. They make squillions of 'em to give to shelters, too. An they spends lots of time organizing Secret Paws, which me an Missy loves. DKM writes tha beautifulest tributes when someone goes to tha Bridge. They definitely "swim wif grace an intelligentz", altho as a cat i's must say that word "swim" makes me a lil bit nervous. Purrs, KC

a very Happy Easter & Happy Spring!

Missy was tagged for the "Make a Wish" Meme by Maggy & Zoey.
(Missy thanks the talented Zoolatry for the beautiful, purrfect graphics)
The Make A Wish meme originated with Linda from Are We There Yet? Save the photo below, add your own photos or copy to make your wish and be sure to link back to Linda so she can share all our wishes. Then tag your friends... we tag Grr, Midnight & Cocoa and Not The Mama.

Smudge Saturday

This evocative portrait was created
by Not The Mama in memory of Smudge.
Today is Smudge Saturday,
in honor of a brave little boy cat who fought a good fight,
but went to the Bridge 3/20/08.
He will be missed.

Former Ferals Friday - Middle Name Meme

We were tagged by Jack for the Middle Name Meme!
Here is how it works:
1. You have to post the rules before you give your answers.
2. You must list one fact about yourself beginning with each letter of your middle name. (If you don't have a middle name, use your maiden name or your mother's maiden name).
3. At the end of your blog post, you need to tag one person (or blogger of another species) for each letter of your middle name. (Be sure to leave a comment telling them they've been tagged.)

Tabby Tuesday & News

Here is Missy, all ready to pose for Tabby Tuesday.
The center photo is blurry, but that stretch looks so good.
(Click to biggify)

Remember our contest back on March 1st, Guess our Secret?
The winner was The Cats Stephens and the prize is a Gizzy Quilt,
which is being made by Millie's Mom especially for Percy.

We got an award for going to Henry's Birthday Bash.

Jake loves my Mommie ML.
She got him a set of squiggles, his favorite toy.
He was one of the first kitties she met; she fell in love with him.

Didn't Smokey make a handsome St. Patrick's Day mancat?
And he makes a Mean Green Catnip-Tini, too.
