Mancat Monday - Goodbye Emil

Emil, you did so much in your short life.
We will never forget you.
You went above and beyond for Missy Blue Eyes
in her quest to learn the identity of her Secret Admirer.
For this and the many, many ways you showed you cared for us,
you will be missed.
Until we meet again.

See the tribute to Emil at the M-Cats Club.

Leave a Purrthday Message for Emil at his bloggie.

Saturday Caturday

Faith Boomerang gave me a real surprise this morning...
And everything went into the dishwasher! Again!

(at least she didn't play "will it break or will it bounce" this time!)

F5 Tornado Tortie Toosday

Faith Boo :: leaping gleefully ::
It's mine, all mine.
Faith Boomerang
:: singing happily ::
On the seventh hour of summer,
Miss Faith Boo did spill
Fine filtered water,
Yummy crunch cat food,
A pillow she did claw,
Sheets she did gnaw,

Cards she did chew,
Ribbon that looked to pretty,
And three rolls of TP she did borrow, art tomorrow!

... art tomorrow, art tomorrow...
Sam is such a talented songwriter, yes he is! Yes, he is!
... and he writes about me, yes he does.... tra la la
ML: I leave a roll of paper towels unattended for a few minutes
and look what happens. Faith Boomerang strikes again.

In the last two photos, the energetic Miss Boomerang is playing with a Kitty Buddy, made by Christina of Harmony Pillows two years ago. KC grew up playing with that and an original Silly Snake (both in lime green, KC's signature color) and both toys are still going strong.

During a prayer vigil one of the Harmony kitties once used the term "making love paws" instead of saying "making biscuits". So now we use that term, too.

Smokey - Mancat Monday

Love the way Smokey grips the bar with his toes (click to biggify).

He wants to walk the shower curtain rod or the ceiling... or both!

Three guesses what happened to the towels...
and the first two don't count, hee hee!

Who, me????
Why's everyone looking at me?

Faith Boo here, a very important post was made by Rocky of Artsy Catsy this past Friday. Please take a few minutes to go read this. It is, quite simply, one of the best things I have ever read. It even brought tears to Bendrix' eyes.

Easy (?) Like Sunday Morning

Cute little F-Boo footsies up close!
Everyone has been asking about Miss Faith Boomerang.
She is tired out. She left her marks:
  • Filtered water from a Pur Water Pitcher spilled everywhere
  • An unopened bag of cat food all over the pantry
  • A punctured bag of pillow stuffing scattered everywhere
  • A package of unopened sheets gnawed beyond recognition
  • A package of all occasion cards chewed through
  • Two spools of silk ribbon un-spooled and relentlessly chewed
  • Three rolls of toilet paper totally shredded
  • Four clean towels somehow found the floor
  • The shower curtain liner was shredded

Wow, a poem just for me! fanks, Sam... and you can sing it! ~Faith Boomerang

Criz postponed having Mama Jessica spayed, using the money instead to save Panther's life. This is the result of his waiting -- Mama Jess delivered twins Saturday 6/21/2008! I am really motivated to work on the auctions and raffle to get both Mama Jessica and Baby Janice fixed. The charming 6-member J Family just became 8-members, and 8 is enough!!!

The Sherwood Bunch is having the first ever Gift Bag Raffle
at Deb & ML's Furriends of the Cat Blogosphere Auction blog.
Tickets are only $2.
More gifts will be added later by the Sherwood cats.

I am so proud of the beautiful KC,
who made a lovely little Bridesmaid in the wedding.
KC is not happy, however, since her handsome beau,
Jack, was nowhere to be found.
KC did learn to Hula from Daisy and Binkie from Fiona and Orlando.

Margaret & Tazz - Friday Update

Margaret "perked up" right after we went in to see her this morning.
She finally recognized Tazz and then me, too.
The doctor came in while we were there,
Margaret introduced us as her family, so we were able to talk to the doctor.
The problem shown on the lower MRI was a bad kidney infection --
she had just had two kidney stones removed.
The cancer has not spread! Yay.
She has an imbalance of sodium and other minerals, plus the infection.
We will go back to see her this morning
and may able to bring her home as early as Saturday.

Thank you, everyone, for your purrs and your prayers.
I know that is what has made the difference.

Here's a couple of photos of Tazz, Margaret's woofie
(and the Sherwood Bunch's NOMSS),
taken a few minutes ago.
Made prints to take to Margaret in the hospital, hopefully
she will remember who Tazz is.

Tazz doesn't look or act very well, I am worried about her.
You can tell by her pictures she feels bad.
She whimpers and cries all the time,
something she never did before.

Keep Margaret in your prayers today, she is very sick.
If they know what is wrong, they are not saying.
The MRI they did in the ER showed no cancer spread to her brain.
A second MRI, of the mid-section, was taken
but they will not comment on it
(at least to me, not being family).

Wacky Wednesday

Cats Cool Off
With the heat index around 115F during the day,
the kitties are looking for ways to keep cool and relax.

KC tries a modified "road kill" position in front of the fan.
Must not have worked, because she finally falls asleep on her treehouse.
(Note the lovely "golden paw" hanging down)
Missy finds an empty bookcase...
(any guesses who emptied it?)

...but moves back by my desk to finish her nap.
(Aren't her paws and markings beautiful?)

Sol naps completely hidden from view. (ha ha)
And finally, even tiny Texas tornado torties have to sleep.
She's no doubt dreaming up new adventures.
*************
Thanks to everyone for your emails and calls about Margaret.
They just admitted her and will keep her next to ICU for observation.
Don't know what is wrong right now, she says she is exhausted.
I'll see her tomorrow afternoon, Charley has an appointment in the morning.

Mancat Monday - Faith Boo & the Boys

This is a re-enactment of actual dangerous events!
The three mancats of the house were looking for something to do.
Smokey took his favorite Squiggle to Faith Boo,
hoping for a game of "Grab the Squiggle".
Miss Faith Boomerang had other ideas.
Looking up, she yelled to BJ, on the top of the cabinets,
and asked if he could get into the cabinet.
BJ answered of course he could,
a cabinet to keep him out had not been invented!
And he then showed her how he could open the cabinet door.
The rest, alas, could not be photographed or even re-enacted.
In a flash, Miss Faith Boomerang climbed onto the top shelf.
Mancats Smokey and Sol quickly followed onto the second shelf.
Within seconds, a crash was heard.
Faith Boo pushed a dish off the shelf!
Not to be outdone, Smokey and Sol followed with two water glasses.
The stone floor was a mass of a million very sharp glass splinters.

We finally got the boys locked in another room.
Then we had to drag KC and Missy Blue Eyes away.
Twenty paws were checked twice to make sure there were no injuries.

Faith Boo was still rooted to the top of the cabinet.
Since we couldn't reach her, we let her stay.
She watched attentively -- and gleefully -- as I cleaned up the glass.

The Tiny Texas Tortie Tornado struck again,
this time with assistance from the three Mancats of the House.

Happy Father's Day & Welcome Greebo

Happy Father's Day to Daddy Charley
and to all the Daddies in the Cat Blogosphere! Here is the first picture of KC and her Daddy Charley
(taken 7/22/2006 in Auntie Deb's car on the way back from the airport)

Now for our news! We got a package this week...
...wonder what it is?
Miss Faith Boomerang is understandably curious!

It's Greebo!
Mom Robyn had two "special" Squillions, Greebo and Joocy.
Like many of us, both have scars. Large scars.
Joocy traveled east to Rockville MD to live with Orinch & Peachy.
Greeboy traveled south to Houston TX to live with Theo, CK, & Bow*.

(*Bow is also "special" as Mom Cathy accidentally beheaded him.
Bow is first mentioned here, when Auntie Deb started bidding on him.)

Front and back, scars and dings, we think Greebo is "purrfect".

Meantime, Smokey claims Greebo's beautiful purple blankie.
(Note Smokey's lower "fangs" in the bottom photo. Click to biggify.)
