I nearly fainted when I saw Smokey on the NEW curtain rods. Grabbed the camera and got these pictures. Suddenly, he was "stuck" up there and was crying pitifully. He had a front and back leg over each side of the rod, and his little belly was flat against it. I panicked. Ran and got out the [heavy] ladder, moved the couch, drug the ladder back behind the couch, started to climb and guess what? Smokey somehow leaps and gets his paws back on the curtain rod and hops down. He gives me a little Meow as he scampers away. Sigh. Just see if I come running the next time, Mr. Smokey.
very elusive indeed, bcareful when you do that....we just love to climb the curtain up & down-back& forth, sometimes with a softly swing, heheee..mommy just too worried about us doing that;)
Oh Mr. Smokey.....you just waited for your Mommy to get the ladder before you got down. Mommy can hear circus music in her head when she is looking at you doing your trick! You sure aren't afraid of heights are you!!!
We Sherwood mancats have huge paws, so it makes it easy to grip and balance. I'm just trying to make it to the ceiling fan... doesn't that thing look like fun. My brother, BJ, can do a vertical launch up a wall and catch the top of the door molding with his huge front paws. So far, he can't figure out what to do after that. He just "hangs" for a while, then lets go, slides down, and does it again. Purrs, Smokey
someday you all hafta give your poor mom a break. just one day, okay? efurrybody just lay quietly around her and purr sweetly, okay? okay? not gonna happen...right?
Way to go Smokey! Especially good technique getting the human to go get the ladder and then jumping down yourself. I'm proud of you bud! Purrrrrs, the Pepster
That's very impressive walking on the curtain rails :)
ReplyDeleteGood job Smokey - are you going to be a circus performer like Daisy? She likes to walk the rails too, only yours look a bit harder.
