Secret Paw Sunday

We had a package on our door late last night... here is Smokey opening the card... to all of us from the McKitten-Cats...
Jasper, Josie, Huggy Bear and Maggie and their Mom & Dad.

Faith Boomerang explores all the wonderful goodies inside the huge package....
The little Red Mouse House is the cutest thing I have ever seen. The cats love it. Finally, something roomy enough for all three squirming boys and a girl cat or two. The mouse has whiskers, a tail, and little ears.

KC is happy in the shipping box with some Temptations.
Faith Boomerang has decided this is her house. Period.

Thank you so much McKitten-Cats, they will be playing with all of these goodies for a long, long time.

Tortie-Tuxie-Tabby Toosday

Here is adorable little Faith Boomerang, asleep in a basket.
A basket I had planned to use as a catch-all "drawer" on my desk shelf. She claimed it first!
This is Faith's brother from the litter before her own.
Bandit will not come inside, even during the snow a few nights ago. Our neighbor, Joycie, wants to adopt him, but he will have nothing of it. Look at that tail, it was Momma Tortie's trademark.
Here is Moki, on the right, wearing the blue thermal jammies that KC and Missy Blue Eyes sent to keep him warm. And there is Orange Boy, right beside him. Aren't they just the cutest little kitties.

Easy Sunday - Introducing Ike

We first saw Ike right after Hurricane Ike. He was a bit smaller back then, sitting on our window sill. I had never seen a frog like him, but Charley said he is a tree frog. We named him Ike after the Hurricane. Unless the temperatures fall below the mid-40's, we see him every night, outside the same window. (Sorry for the yellow in the picture, it's the outside spotlight.)

An i's wanted to put up a pickshure of my beloved Viking-Cat Jack. Hims Mom had hims blood an pee tested an hims is purrfecshun. Course, I's already knowed that. Hee hee. An we's going to tha ChrissyMouse Party! ~KC

Don't forget to check Auntie Deb & Mommy ML's Auctions to benefit the Sickly Cats of the CB. Uncle Mo has offered specshul prizies, too. We's got beautiful artist-crafted joolery and Pashmina.

An Award

Karen Jo was kind enough to give me this wonderful award. Thank you so much, Karen Jo. Here are the rules:

They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! How To Clean A Cat

1. Thoroughly clean the toilet.
2. Add the required amount of shampoo to the toilet water and lift both lids.
3. Obtain the cat and soothe him while you carry him to the bathroom.
4. In one smooth movement, put the cat into the toilet and close both lids. (You may need to stand on the top so he cannot escape.) CAUTION:
Do not get any part of your body too close to the cat, as his paws will be reaching for anything they can find.
5. Flush the toilet three or four times. This provides a "power wash and rinse" which I have found to be quite effective.
6. Have someone open the back door and ensure that there are no people between the toilet and the garden.
7. Stand behind the toilet as much as you can and lift both lids quickly.
8. The freshly cleaned cat will rocket out of the toilet and run outside, where he will dry himself.

......Sincerely, The Dog

Another Award...

... this from Castle and extra-special because it is reviving an award created by his sister, Storm, the Furry Fighter. You can read all about Storm creating her award here.

We are passing this on to Moki & Mom Crystal, Beau & Mom Cathy and Uncle Mo aka Not The Mama because they are unselfish and caring and would do anything to help another.

Thank you so much, Castle.

Storm published this 16 Dec 2007, exactly one year ago today, on her blog...

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.

An Award

Thank you so much, Diamond, for the Caring Cat Lady Award.
And to receive it along with Not The Mama and 40 Paws! Wow!

The kitties meowed and mewed and finally decided on these three for the award:

* DKM, who probably knits/crochets Snuggles in her sleep, for providing hundreds of lonely, frightened shelter kitties with a bit of love and warmth;

* Artsy-Catsy's Mom Sharolyn, always fund raising and helping those in need;

* The Zoolatry Human for unselfishly using her talent to make each and every cat and critter feel special with personalized graphics.

It was really difficult, there were so many choices.
This award is too cool and such a wonderful idea.
Thank you again, Diamond.

The rules are:
  • This award is for the humans - not the cats - so remember to give it to the humans.
  • Link back to the furson who gave it to you.
  • The felines in the family then get to pass it on to three other crazy caring cat ladies (or not ladies, as the case may be).
  • Be sure to leave a link on the other cats' blogs to let them know their human persons have won an award.
  • HERE is the link to the small size award (200 pxl) to put on your side bar.

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Hi Everyone... Missy Blue Eyes here.

We Sherwood kitties have had our little paws full trying to take care of these humans this past week, so we are enjoying a nice, relaxing Sunday morning together.

Daddy Charley is improving after only three days on diabetes medicine and watching his diet. Mommy ML is still stressed but getting better.

We are looking forward to bringing Auntie Deb to stay with us. Tuesday she will see Dr. Lee, who did the procedure last week. After that, we should know what's going on. It is hard to tell now because of the pain from the procedure itself.

Thank you for all your purrs and purrayers.
We really needed them and they worked!
Now back to my nap.

Wednesday

Here's BJ and his Bunny Kicker that Auntie Deb bringed on hers last visit.
Auntie Deb came to visit us Tuesday. She stayed most of tha day. She an Mommy didn't even talk too much, they bof feeled bad.

Mommie's got a big purplish bruise on hers forehead from tha fall Sunday night. Tha light still hurts her eyes.

Auntie Deb's no fun either. All she wanted was a big bag of ice fur hers back.

She haf surjery later today, at 10:30 a.m. central time.

She's going to stay wif hers sisfur, Retta, tonight (Wednesday). Then she'll come over here to stay. Just keep them purrs going that this day-surjery will work. Iffen it doesn't, there's tha long version that will. But we's hoping this will do it.

Tuesday

Mine Mommie ML was really sick Sunday night. She had a bad headache. She couldn't read words on tha computer, they didn't make sense. She wuz seeing flickery "lights" effurrywhere. She couldn't walk. She falled down an has a big purply bruise on hers head. Daddy Charley taked her to Docktor Bob's hospital Monday morning.

We finked she might haf had a stroke, cause of tha symptoms. Dr. Bob said it is a furry bad My Grain. He said mine Mommie is exhausted an isn't getting enuf rest. Hers blood pressure falls an hers falls, too. He gived her My Grain pills and Sleeping pills and she sleeped all day. All six of us cats sat on her while she sleeped, but she never tried to get up.

We got up jus to do tha drawing, get hers another pill, and now we's going back to sleep. Yup, all six of us will go in there and surround her and keep her from getting up again till morning. Hee hee hee.

Mommy talked to Aunt Deb, she is staying wif her sister here in Houston. Auntie Deb will see hers doktors tomorrow. Then we'll all get together on Wednesday and spend the rest of the week (at least) together. We finks Auntie Deb will be here for at least a few weeks, getting treatments.

Congratulations, Artsy-Catsy,
on winning
tha Platinum Drinkwell Fountain.
