Mancat Monday - Sol, Smokey & BJ

BJ and Sol are napping, resting up from the
House Trashing Party
at The Purrageous Pirates.
What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
And BJ is reminding us that they also attended
Castor and Pollux's first Purrthday Party.
Castor and Pollux, the Meezer Brothers, are officially ManCats.
If you haven't, stop by and congratulate them!
Smokey is napping in the skybox -- all that trashing and party-ing takes a toll.
Doesn't Smokey have beautiful eyes? (click to biggify)
They have yellow eyes with a rim of emerald green, just like their mother.

Don't forget the Triple ManCats 1st Purrthday Party on 7/31
celebrating Sol, Smokey & BJ becoming ManCats!
It is the lovely Samantha's Purrthday and she will be joining us.
Wow, it should really be fun.
The Hotties celebrate thems Birthdays as August 1st, so maybe we can celebrate here on Thursday and then just sort of drift over there around midnight. A 48-hour party. Whoa.

Newsflash:
If'n you's up to it, Tiger Lily is haffing thems furrst ever
Trash the House Party
TODAY! Right Now!
Teleport over and join the fun!
Of course, all tha Sherwood Bunch will be there... it's what we do.

Easy Sunday Morning

Following some advice, I sat down and polished my boots...
well... shoes, since I don't own any boots.

And Sol jumps in my lap and officially declared himself MY cat!
He finally made a commitment! Yay!

And you know who you are... a thousand thanks for the boot-washing advice. It works!

KC's techno-cat auction ends tonight at midnight.
Winner #1 gets an external Seagate Drive and Jump Drive.
Winner #2 gets a geeky transparent Jump Drive.
Both great for office, home or school.
Click on the link above to purchase tickets, only $2 each.

Our sick furriends are temporarily caught up on funds, so proceeds will go to Jody, the night feral stalker. Jody always has injured or sick cats waiting for help, in need of life-saving treatments. She pays for many of them out of her own pocket (she is on disability) until she runs out of money. This money will help her provide much needed treatment for some very sick cats.
Two examples are shown below, recent rescues, Wiley and Cajun. They are sisters and very close. Jody went through some real heroics to get these two sweet girls and their brother, Aces, out of a dangerous (deadly) situation. Aces has since found a home. They are in need of medications and recovering at Jody's home.
For more info and videos see Jody's blog.
I have to warn you, Jody's world is not pretty. She sees some of the worst treatment of animals. Sometimes I can barely read the things she has written. But like she says, someone has to go help them.
When I informed Jody that she had some donations headed her way, she responded:
Thank you Cat Blogospherees, for helping me out, so often. So many cats have benefited from your kindness. Remember Mickey, who needed his eye removed and was sick, his adoptor and I communicate often. She lives in British Columbia and Mickey is very happy there with her and her other animals. You are very kind people. Purrs to all of you, from Jody and the strays of Oregon.

Jody is a real hero, dedicating her life to help feral cats that would otherwise be killed. She rescues them (no easy task, read her blog), cares for them, gets medical care and finds them homes. We want to set up some sort of fund for her, since she uses her own disability checks, and then depends on the generosity of others.

Saturday Caturday - Lots of Winners

Smokey here, this is an exciting Saturday...
... we've got a New Arrival that needed a name.
And there were so many good entries. All kinds of names...
....it was very hard to choose.
But we did make a choice and we have a winner.

Hello, Socket SweetFeets and congratulations to Derby
for the winning name.
Derby's prize package is already in the mail to him.

And now, Mr. Socket's life is about to begin...
he is now enroute to his new home with... ta da...
the beloved Billy SweetFeets.
His name may be changed by his new family.
We enjoyed having Mr. Socket with us.
We only want the best for him because
he was made with love and given with love.
Sometimes in life things change.
We knew his original owner would love
to see him in the arms, er paws, of his namesake, Billy.
With that said, Billy, Miles and Sammy
will be welcoming him home in a few days.

And finally, we have yet one more winner.
Our own lovely, elegant Missy Blue Eyes was one of the winners in
Texas' Funny Picture Friday

A Contest - Name New Arrival

Our adorable blue Sock Drawer Shelter Kitty arrived a few days ago,
the companion to Sprout SweetFeets Taylor.
Right now he is simply called New Arrival as he has no name.
He enjoys playing peek-a-boo with Faith Boo; here you can see his cute kitty tail. He enjoys climbing the kitty tree, too.
New Arrival ponders what to do next, when he hears someone calling...
...it's Sol, who invites him up for a nap in the skybox.

New Arrival said he loves it here, but he does want a name of his own.

In order to find the best name ever for him, we are having a contest
and asking all our friends in the blogosphere to help out.
Submit your suggestions in the comments.
---------------------------------
We don't have any rules for this....
...well, maybe just one.

His middle name must be SweetFeets in honor of Billy SweetFeets, who picked the winning name for Sprout SweetFeets Taylor.

----------------------------------
We will choose our favorite name, post the winning name on Saturday Caturday and send the winner a great prize.

Thankful Thursday

So, vacation is going smoothly after an admittedly ungraceful beginning.

I had forgotten about this photo of Auntie Deb at the airport.
It was taken just seconds after KC got out of her carrier.
Look at KC, just chatting away, telling Auntie Deb all the details of her stay
with Grr, Midnight & Cocoa, and of course, the long long flight.
KC's little face is just too sweet.
KC loves The Kermit, which helps her forget her brothers stole hers. Which I think she stole from Missy.
We got lots of play time with the camera strap and a bright green squiggle.
Speaking of bright green, which is KC's "signature" color, here is a beautiful chain link collar Auntie Robyn made for KC. The detail is incredible -- click to biggify -- hundreds of teensy little rings painstakingly clamped together to form a stunning chain.
Here is a closeup of The Kermit revealing one of it's secrets.
Note the artful embedding of tiny succulent morsels of catnip among the strands of yarn.
It's most potent feature cannot be seen, the custom scenting by
Orlando, Fiona and Diva Kitty. It drives a cat wild!

Check out the Purrs & Purrayers Blog, there is a lot going on. Auntie Deb sees a neurologist, Maw of 40 Paws has a "camera swallowing" test, Victor has an EKG for info on a heart murmur, and hero Mu shue will be laid to rest.
Tonight is the Monthly Purrs & Purrayers Vigil,

KC & The Kermit

The Kermit Has Landed!
What better way to celebrate her 2nd Gotcha Day than with The Kermit,
a genuine official DKM Snuggle KC won.
These snuggles arrive complete with Sophia, Orlando & Fiona smells and lots of nip.

Click here for another official DKM snuggle being auctioned,
this one for Kon's surgery.

Please ignore the mess of paper shreds and scraps on the floor.
There are hovels of folders and papers stacked all over from the frantic activity of processing three tax years. And it was finished yesterday! Yay!

We are enjoying our vacation, even more today ;)
Missy is going to "do the Q".
