Fierce Fighter Friday

I like the idea of Fierce Fighter Day.
While it still hurts to remember, it also brings back some very good memories.
And we know they are never far away, looking down on us.

Autumn Gizzy Raffle Winner!

Here's the Official Bowl of Tickets, ready for the drawing.
Miss Faith Boomerang and Mr. BJ (Brutus Junior) volunteered to assist.
Faith Boomerang was more interested in the official bowl than the tickets and BJ was more interested in uh... Faith Boomerang.
Finally, back on track, BJ makes a bold move and selects a ticket.
It is Perfectly Parker!
Congratulations on winning the
Autumn Gizzy.
And little Faith is still playing with the bowl!
Thanks so much to everyone who participated.
The money was vital yesterday in paying Moki's bill.
And thanks to Millie's Mom who makes the most beautiful quilts ever.

Happy Birthday Charley & Purrs for Moki

Today is Charley's birthday! We'll say he is 39 and leave it at that. Margaret and I are taking him to Chili's for lunch. He said to see Moki recovering would be his best birthday present.

UPDATE *** GOOD NOOS ***

Moki is on his way home wif Mom Crystal — NO IMMEDIATE DANGER.

All him’s vital signs are normal in spite of tha blood loss. Eating, drinking water, pooping, urinating all okay. The urine test results will be in later today, they taked urine culture directly from tha bladder. Tha bloodwurk will be back in a few days. Crystal got to sit in on tha ultrasound, which was normal, but they did find a blood clot.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Moki has an appointment today with the vet. Hopefully they will find out what is wrong.

Here is Crystal and Moki's schedule: I'll have an update on Moki's blog today (Tuesday), sometime between 9:00-10:00. We will leave here between 10:45 and 11:00 to allow extra time for traffic. Our appointment is at 12:00, which means I will most likely call you sometime between 12:30-1:00.

The above times are Pacific, so adjust accordingly. Mountain time would add one hour, Central time adds two hours, and Eastern time adds 3 hours. I should expect a call from her at 2:30-3 pm my time (Central).
I'll post the info here and on the Cat Blogosphere as soon as I get it.

Just keep those purrs and purrayers coming, loud and clear.

Moki is very, very ill with a severe urinary infection. He may not make it. He is peeing blood and his body temperature keeps falling; if it falls too much, he will go into shock.

Help keep Moki warm! Join us on the giant Warming Cat Pile at his blog. Be sure to sign in in the comments. Please keep purring and purraying for him.

FIGHT, MOKI!

There is a Chatzy Room for Moki on the Purrs & Purrayers bloggie.

Sunday Morning

Beautiful BJ and Sol share a skybox and a nap.

Please send warming purrs and purrayers to Moki.
He is critically ill.
There is a Chatzy Room open today.

Fractious Friday

Faith Boomerang here.
I got tagged for a MEME
by the handsome Billy SweetFeets ::blushing::
to tell eight random things about myself:
  1. I'm so fractious, I was returned by the shelter -- with a warning label!
  2. I love to sleep beside my Mommy ML and lay my ginormous floofy tail over her nose so she can't breath and wakes up.
  3. My favorite toys are my Star Chaser and my Silly Snake.
  4. I learned to drink water out of a glass from KC. But I scoop the water up on my paw and drink it. Or throw it on everyone else.
  5. I sit on the side of the tub and splash everyone. One time my floofy tail got waterlogged in the tub and the weight pulled me in. That was fun.
  6. I love, love, love having my tummy rubbed. And back skritches. But don't touch my ears!
  7. I love my new kitty carrier with my rusty-color Gizzy Quilt. We each got our own kitty carrier after Hurricane Ike. We were sharing two carriers, but Mommy ML finally realized she couldn't get us all safe with two carriers.
  8. Temptations are my very favorite food. Mommy ML worried and got me Pet Promise, which I eat everyday.
Here are the Tag Rules:
1. Each player starts with 8 random fact/habits about themselves.
2. Tagged players write their own blog about their8 things and post these rules.
3. A the end of your blogpost, choose 8 people to be tagged and list their names.
4. Leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged and to read your blog.

Now I must tag eight of my furriends... hmmm... okay...
  1. Pixel
  2. Steppa
  3. Jack
  4. Persephone
  5. Moki
  6. Pete
  7. Isis
  8. Catzee

An to mine Daddy Charley, who drived little boats out of big boats ta land troops.
There be lots of veteran heroes out there and today shouldn't be tha only day we's remember an fanks them.
Pleeze post info about yours veteran heroes, we'd love ta hear about them!
Love and Purrs, KC

* Memorial Day is to honor those that served our country who are no longer with us, specifically, those who died while in service.

Mancat Monday - Oops, I Did It Again...! (Sol)

Not again!

What's Sol looking for? The perpetrator????

Auntie Deb called Sunday night.
She received so many postcards and cards last week that she couldn't believe it.
Said she keeps them by the bed and reads them when she is hurting or feeling down -- unfortunately, that's a lot.
The MRI is scheduled for Tuesday at 11 AM.
Please send purrs that it is her hip causing the problem.
If so, she will not need the risky back surgery, just hip surgery.
Candy, the Sock Drawer Kitty, arrived Saturday night.
She said it is the cutest thing ever.
KC sent Candy for a late Halloween gift.

[ Need Auntie Deb’s address? email kc AT catblogosphere DOT com]

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Charley got a new "warming blanket" for the cooler weather.
I was surprised to see Smokey and Sol asleep on it, since it wasn't on.

Ha! Lookie here... someone must have switched it on!
Whoever did it was playing with a Silly Snake and brown paper.

Look at that innocent face... we know Smokey didn't do it.

And of course sleepy Sol didn't do it either.
Guess it was Knot Me again!

Former Ferals Friday - Gizzy Quilts!

We're glad we are former ferals. For a lot of reasons.
Gizzy Quilts are one of those reasons.

We got some of Millie's Mom's Stashbuster Gizzy Quilts.
From left to right: The Rusty, The Persian, The Brown Betty.

KC got The Rusty.

BJ got the "The Persian"
It matches his favorite things, such as this rocker toy and his Silly Snake from Harmony Kitties. You can also see the cute Goldfish that Midori sent him.

No one's claimed The Brown Betty for sure. Yet.
But Missy Blue Eyes has been keeping it warm.

At the same time we got the three Gizzys, we ordered a fourth to raffle off to help out some kitty furriends in great need.

Behold, The Autumn Gizzy originally called The Orange Crush.

Tickets are $5 each.

Dona Nobis Pacem

Missy Blue Eyes' Peace Globe is at the very bottom of this post.

I shall write peace upon your wings,
your heart
and you shall fly
around the world
so that children will no longer have to die this way.

This haiku was written by Sadako Sasaki,
a young girl who died from radiation-induced leukemia while folding hundreds of origami cranes in a wish for world peace.
She has become a symbol of the impact of nuclear war.

August 15th is celebrated in Japan as annual Peace and Love Day in Sadako's memory.

During her last days, she heard the story that one who folded a Thousand Origami Cranes would be granted a wish. She began folding cranes while wishing there would never be any more wars. Legend has it she only folded 644 before her death, and that her friends finished the rest and buried them with her. She is often depicted in statues as holding a folded paper crane.

This is the Children's Peace Monument in Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park.
The statue on the top is Sadako holding a paper crane.
A plaque at the foot of the statue reads:
This is our cry. This is our prayer. Peace in the world.

Let us all remember we have more in common than differences.

Auntie Deb Update

Deb is still not feeling well. The last procedures did not help except for the pain in her legs. She still has terrible back pain and is taking painkillers. Her doctor is recommending surgery. She will see him Thursday to discuss her options.

Don't forget KC's Project Postcards:
Deb misses blogging and all her friends so much.
Gussie, Auntie Deb's computer, is in the basement, and the steep stairs are off limits right now. Also, her daughters are both far away at college.
What gave KC the idea for a Postcard Project is that she was very excited as she had received a few cards in the mail. KC figured, let's stuff her mailbox and let her know we are thinking about her!

If you would like to send her a card, that would be fantastic.
She really loves POSTCARDS!
(If you need her address, just email KC.)

Gizzy Quilt Raffle

The Autumn Gizzy! Wow!
The colors are warm and spicy, the fabrics are so unique and beautiful. This is a genuine Gizzy Quilt created by Millie's talented Mom Lynne. Can't think of a cat we know that wouldn't look good snoozing and relaxing on this quilt... especially after a big Thanksgiving dinner!

Tickets are $5 each.

No Paypal account needed, just a credit card.

  • Raffle ends Friday 11/7 Midnight ET
  • Lucky winner announced Saturday 11/8
  • Free US Priority Mail Shipping anywhere in the US.
  • Shipping outside the US is extra.
  • Quilt is 24" square, top-quality 100% cotton top and bottom
  • Warm fleece middle.
  • Completely machine washable.
  • Quilt purrsonally snoopervised and tested by Darling Millie.
  • Makes a cherished holiday gift.
  • 100% of the money raised goes to Criz, Moki, Beau & Callie.
  • See more auctions and raffles for great goodies and gifts at Furriends of the Cat Blogosphere.
Just a comment on what a wonderful group we know. Criz wants to get Janice back home from the animal hospital, but the vet won't release her until surgery costs are paid in full. Each day adds more to the bill. When Moki and Beau learned of this, both asked to give their portions of recent raffles to Criz, since they felt their needs were not as urgent. Miss Peach heard about it and immediately got together a fantastic auction. Beau had his Mom Cathy made a beautiful bracelet and earring set (see Furriends of the Cat Blogosphere).

Auntie Deb Update & Postcard Project

Auntie Deb is finally feeling a bit better since surgery. The doctor wants to see her this week, he felt the last surgery just needed time to heal.

Gussie, her computer, is in the basement, and the steep stairs are off limits right now. Also, her daughters are both far away at college.

She misses blogging and all of her friends very much. What gave KC the idea for a Postcard Project is that she was very excited as she had received a few cards in the mail.

If you would like to send her a card, that would be fantastic.
