Auntie Deb is Home

We finally got Auntie Deb to our house about 3 pm Friday. It was a very long day. She has to wear a body brace, printed with cats, when she is moving about. She is in a lot of pain but has some good medications to take for it.
The last two days have been really busy and we'll post more later, when things quiet down.
And we hope to see everyone at the Purring Circle tonight, where Auntie Deb will be our special guest of honor.

Purrs for Auntie Deb...

(8:30 PM) Tim called. Deb is just out of surgery and doing good. He's been thru many surgeries with her and said she sounded surprisingly good. He also said she might be released as early as Wednesday.
(7:30 PM) Both Reeta and Deb's cell phones are off. Have left numerous messages and am now in full panic mode. Know it will be okay, but just needed to vent here. Reeta knows to call as soon as she can.
(5:30 PM Central) Still waiting for the call she is out of surgery.
(1: 30 PM) Reeta (Deb's sister) called and said surgery had not started and it would be 5-6 hours instead of 4 hours originally planned.

(9 AM Central) Just talked to Deb and she's getting kinda skeered.
She arrived at 9 AM for prep work. Surgery is 10 AM and should take 4-5 hours. They are to remove part of her hipbone to use on her back.
I told hers that all tha cats an beans an woofies an bunnies an hampsters an horsies an critters, we'd all be purring fur hers.
She finks maybe tha Cat Blogosphere haf forgotten hers. Hee hee, no such luck.

If you wants to leaf her a message, please leaf a comment.

We are printing effurry comment on a separate sheet of paper (recycled) so Auntie Deb can read over them while she be recovering. And iffen you haf a blog post fur hers, leave it in tha comments, we's print that out too.

Yours purrs and purrayers are hers bestest meddycine.

She will come stay wif me when they let hers out, probably Friday. We's keep you updated... Purrs, KC

Most Fantastic Gift - Thank You, Jack & OTW

I've got a lot of catching up to do. This was a wonderful holiday, in spite of Charley's diabetes and migraines. Unfortunately, I've been paying so much attention to his health that the really important things, like the cat news, suffered.

KC's Handsome Viking Cat Boy Friend, Jack, and his OTW Brenda sent KC the most amazing package. I discovered it late one evening, hidden in a corner on the porch. Things were hectic and I delayed opening it. I'm glad I waited until KC & I could really enjoy it.

The contents are truly amazing.
All the items are made by hand and the work and thought and detail is incredible.
I truly do not know what to say. Except Thank You.

There was so much in the package and it is all so special, I wanted to make several posts. This first post is about the top layer items.
Yup, all these gorgeous items were the first things we saw when we opened the box.

The colorful little house contained a growling mousie and some chase toys. There was a cute little card from Jack. A green frog held a surprise string. And some of Jack's beloved red ribbon (you can see it in many of the posts on his blog). KC loved the ribbon right away.
The little frog was holding a string... the card explained that it was constructed of sewing thread. When I looked at it closer (i.e., with my reading glasses on) I realized it was woven with "Jack", "KC", and hearts. Amazing talent.
It is "tablet weaving", something I intend to research later.

All of those items were on the top layer. I was so surprised to look back and see the box was not empty:

Look! Six cute little kitty bags inside!
I grabbed the one with a tag that said "KC" sticking out.

I opened it and couldn't believe it... just look!
If that doesn't have KC's expression and markings, right down to the golden paw. The fabric is solid brown, all the detail was done by hand.
In the next post I'll show the contents of the remaining five bags. It was really fun to explore, even while being swarmed by six curious determined cats.

And to Jack and OTW Brenda, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
This was absolutely one of the best presents we have ever received.
