Update - Wednesday Evening
I never got in for an appointment today. The migraine is still there as are the two broken toes. Course, there isn't much they can do for broken toes, I've got them taped up, just wish I could stay off of them.
It was really a shock to learn about Charlie Cat. I hope to get over to see him tomorrow, maybe he feels like I abandoned him as well? This is too much after just losing Oreo.
This is one of the lowest points in my entire life. I am so thankful for all the comments, purrs and support right now.
UPDATE: 1:25 PM CST

CHARLEY Update
Charley finally getting some much needed rest noon Monday. All the fluids, oxygen and drugs just kicked in. This is the most relaxed he has been since Thursday evening. ~MLTuesday 9:55 AM CST - Talked to Charley, he said Dr. Bob said there is no evidence of a viral infection. He has specialists checking to see if he has had another mild stoke, as he can no longer use his right leg. I'm on my way over, they are trying to get him to eat solid food, I'm going to take him his favorite hamburger and fries. Keep those magical purrs coming.
Tuesday 2 PM CST - Never made it over to the hospital, the roads are impassable between our house and there. We had 10+ inches of rain in 12 hours. It has been raining today as well. They are still running tests on Charley to figure out what is wrong. I believe he is just very weak from not eating. Deb or I will post as soon as there is any news.
Late Tuesday evening update: The nurses said Charley is resting but grumpy and uncooperative. That is really a good sign. He is still running a fever and is very weak. Dr. Bob has ordered him to use a walker and is arranging physicial therapy for when he recovers. Right now he cannot use either leg to walk. He will also need assisted living help when he does get to return home. ML will be getting that set up later.
To Oreo!
We losted a furry good furriend today.Oreo was one of the furrst blogging kitties we met.
I's so glad we had a chance to chat wif you last Thursday at tha Healing Purrs Circle.
An I's glad I had tha chance to tell you, long ago, I had a huge crush on you!
We loves you Oreo and miss you so much.
Many purrs and purrayers to yours Mommy Heather. ~KC
PLEASE PURR FOR MINE DADDY!
UPDATE 12:35 pm CST: I just talked to ML. Charley is in his hospital room and getting all the medication he needs. He seems to be responding very well. He is sleeping peacefully. I asked ML to leave him and go home for a rest. Dr. Bob and the nurses will take very good care of him. There is a heavy storm approaching Houston and I want ML to drive home before that hits! She will let me know when she gets home. She wanted me to thank everyone for all their prayers and purrs! She says that is why Charley is already better. I'll post more updates as I get them. Deb
Mancat Monday
The cats love to sit on the tub while I take a bath and then jump in while the water runs out. Here are Smokey (left) and BJ (right) enjoying the last of the bath water. Hee hee, the last thing they expected was me to have a camera! Muhahahahaha! (Don't they look guilty!)Charley has to be at Dr. Bob's office at 8 a.m. Monday. I am very, very worried. He is weak and his good side -- he is paralyzed on the left side -- is now equally weak. He has fallen several times trying to walk, that seems to no longer be an option. He is very disoriented, Dr. Bob said that is probably the fever.
1:30 a.m. Charley woke me up with another fall. He simply can no longer walk. I finally gave up trying to move him and made him a bed on the floor. Don't know how I will get him to the car from the floor, must find a big strong person to help.
On a more positive note, go by and celebrate three years of The Cat Blogosphere.
From Robyn's great idea to what it has evolved into today, it would never have been possible without each and every one of you!
Happy Third Birthday, Cat Blogosphere.

Easy Like Sunday Morning
Look forward to getting him to Dr. Bob tomorrow at 8 a.m. Charley said this year he will get a flu shot. I've been symptom-free except for nerves and lack of sleep.
We're also looking forward to getting little Charlie Cat back home with us. I can't wait to hear him sing.
We've got so many friends who need purrs and prayers, see the Cat Blogosphere and the Purrs & Purrayers bloggie for details. Special purrs to LapDaddy & Miss Peach; Oreo & Mom Heather; Casper, Mom & DaughterBean Lori; Baby Drama; and our two lost kitties, Mini Munch and Jayson.

Saturday Update
Miss Peach's sweet LapDaddy is the hospital after having a heart attack. Please, please, please, send all yours purrs and purrayers and love to him for a swift recovery. You can read Miss Peach's email on the Cat Blogosphere.I'm watching him closely and can get him to ER if needed... his high fever has broken.
Little Charlie Cat could come home today, but we we will get him Monday at 11 a.m.
Thank you for all the purrs and purrayers for both Charley/Charlies.
Also, if anyone tried to call, our phones are out.
Charley said the cats "reprogrammed" them on Friday... he hasn't been well enough to fix them and I don't have a clue. I can call out, but evidently some may not be able to call in. If you need my cell number, just email me and I'll send it.
It was the Usual Suspects: Sol, Smokey, BJ and Faith Boomerang. I tell you, those cats are dangerous.

UPDATE ON CHARLIE
Auntie Deb reporting:
I just talked with Dr. Smith and Charlie Cat is "holding his own". He has been drinking, eating, peeing & pooping! Is that too much information? :)
Dr. Smith will be repeating his blood and urine tests in the morning. If all is well, he might get to go home for the weekend.
KEEP THOSE PURRS AND PRAYERS COMING! THEY ARE WORKING!
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!
... don't forget the video of Charlie singing is in the post below. "Big" Charley is sick, we think he has the flu. He started feeling bad when we took "little" Charlie Cat in to the vet yesterday (was that just yesterday?). He is running a fever and having chills. So Daddy Charley has a doctor appointment tomorrow, just to make sure he is okay. And thank you again for the purrs and grrs, they really are working! ... ML
pee ess: KC says she hopes to see everyone at the Purrs & Purrayers Healing Circle tonight.

UPDATE ON CHARLIE
UPDATE: 4/23/09 12:15 p.m. CST
Auntie Deb here, reporting for ML:
I just talked to Dr. Smith and Charlie Cat is doing much better today. He is eating well and the sub q fluids are helping him tremendously. Dr. Smith will be keeping him in the hospital until Saturday. She is going to repeat his blood and urine tests tomorrow. She said that he is being very talkative and active.
Thank you everyone for your prayers and purrs! PLEASE KEEP THEM GOING!
Here is a video that ML made of Charlie "singing" to her:
Isn't he just adorable?
FIGHT CHARLIE FIGHT!!!
WE LOVE YOU CHARLIE!!!
URGENT PURRS NEEDED!!!!
Deb talked to Dr. Smith tonight and said that Charlie Cat woofed down four plates of food this afternoon. Dr. Smith doesn't know how he will do on the fluids, however, it is 50-50 right now as far as kidney function. His numbers from the blood work were not good and he had lost 1.5 pounds. Thank you so much for all the purrs and purrayers... we took him in hoping we would at least have a few years with him. But in only a few short days, he has touched our lives and our hearts.
ML & The Sherwood Bunch
This is Auntie Deb blogging for ML:
Charlie Cat had to be rushed to the Houston Cat Hospital to see Dr. Smith today. He is not drinking or eating normally. His urine tests show that his kidneys are not functioning properly. I think this is because he was left alone for a while until ML and I were told about him.
He had been living with his Mommy (who was a neighbor of ML and Charley's) since he was a kitten. His Mommy had to be taken to the hospital and then to a hospice. No one was told to go and take care of Charlie Cat for a week or so. His Mommy didn't have any family beside Charlie Cat. She has dementia and was unable to articulate anything about him. ML got an urgent phone call while I was with her and we immediately went over to the apartment and picked up Charlie Cat. Unfortunately, no one knows how long he was left on his own. Dr. Smith thinks that this is what has caused his kidneys to malfunction. They are giving him lots of fluids and running many tests on him. Fortunately, Charlie Cat has a strong heart.
ML and Charley are so worried about their new baby, as am I. We fell in love with Charlie Cat instantly. I told ML to rest and that I would fill everyone in on the situation.
Please send your very hardest purrs and prayers to Charlie Cat, as well as ML and Charley. I will keep you updated as I get more information.

Earth Day
Happy Earth Day, Critters & Beans! We tries to cellybrate effurryday as Earth Day.
One simple fing to do to help... recycle mailing supplies.
Tha packages aren't as purrty, but it does help cut down on waste.
Also, mommy goes to Walmart early to get boxes an packing from tha stockers that they jus normally trash. Some of tha nice beans there even save them for hers. We use the catalogs from tha mail fur packing an ours shredded paper. Iffen you's ever gotted a package from us, you know this already. Hee hee.
Another fing we love to do is wrap packages in fabric rather than paper. Tha Japanese call these wrapping cloths, or furoshiki. Yous can use hankerchefs or scarfs or even a square of yours own fabric. You can find more simple direkshuns here.
