Mancat Monday - Charlie Taylor

Charlie has been out of his room, running freely and socializing.
This is the second day... he is resting on the couch on Smokey's "Blanket of Love", hugging the yellow bunny kicker, a couple of nip raviolis, and a silly snake.
He selected these toys from the basket all by himself, and then carried them over to the couch.
There aren't as many growls today and a bit more ummm... tail sniffing.

KC's Box of Voles

I's heading on over to Sniffie and the Florida Furkids house fur a biggie House Trashing Party wif Cousin Trooper today. Of course, mine box of voles will be going wif me, so's we can play chase. Here's sorta a story abouts me and mine voles from Zoolatry, who also did tha eggcellent grafiks....

KC's Box of Voles
The Story of KC, Kenny and Katy -- and the Box of Voles

Kenny, "don't look now Katy, but all the wee-voles are in KC's big box!"

Katy, "oh no, what do you think she is up to?"

Kenny, "well, I heard her say something about a house-trashing party."

Katy, "what can that be?"

Kenny, "well, I sure don't know, but it doesn't sound good to me!"

Katy, "besides, these wee-voles are too young to be partying!"

Kenny, "and I'm not sure I trust KC anyway... I am now remembering that once upon a time when she took the other wee-voles to a party, and two of them*** -- well, you know -- they came back late, and they got themselves into that -- well, you know -- that
family way! And then we had way-too-many-wee-voles all over the place!"

Katy, "yes, let's keep a watch on KC... maybe there's somewhere we can all go and hide... maybe Missy Blue Eyes will protect us, or Sol, or Smokey, or BJ or Charlie ...!"

Saturday Caturday

BJ enjoying a nap on the couch.
The two little angels, BJ and Smokey. Don't they look innocent? Who knows what they are plotting.

Charlie has a new fountain all his own and is really enjoying it. He has really increased his fluid intake since I set it up for him.

Wednesday

Charlie goes to see the vet this morning at 10:30 a.m.
I hope she will see some improvement in him, from weight gain on to decreasing fluids in his lungs.
Will post news and photos as soon as I get home.

*******
Charlie lost one ounce of weight. Nothing bad, but I hoped he had gained.
He had more lung x-rays and either it was the same -- no worse! -- or there was a small amount of improvement.
So we had all his meds refilled.
His fur is filling out and he is more playful, so that's good. We'll just wait and see.
I took a photo with my cell phone (my camera battery is charging), but so far haven't received the email, will post when (and if) I get it.
All in all, it was good news.
And, thanks to everyone who contributed, the vet bill is fully paid.
Charlie did have fun seeing all of his friends at Houston Cat Hospital, he made quite a few during his lengthy stay there.
Thanks for all the purrs and purrayers, they are working!

Margaret is home, resting not-quite-comfortably after day surgery to repair two hernias. She is joking and taking her pain pills and said she will feel better tomorrow.

We hope Auntie Deb feels better, she has had a stomach flu since the weekend.

Casper's DaughterBean had her last chemo Monday and is doing very well.

Mancats Monday

Pleased to say Sol is getting better fast. The vet was right, Sol is very healthy and very strong. None of the other cats are sniffling, including Charlie Taylor.

The photo above shows Charlie sleeping by the window in a sunspot. He also has a nice pot of kitty grass, which he loves. He has a vet appointment on Wednesday, can't wait to see how he is doing.

His water fountain should be in this week, I ordered a small kitty size just for him.

Saturday Caturday - Sickly Sol

Please send a few purrs and purrayers and grrrs and whatevers to Sol, who is a bit under the weather.
Sol has been sneezing since Friday afternoon and seemed warm, so we immediately started lysine sprinkles on their food and fired up the vaporizer.

This morning he was still sniffling, so he went to the vets. He is running a slight fever and the beginnings of a cold, but he may be able to fight it off. We got some antibiotic to use just in case anyone gets anything worse than sniffles.

I was especially concerned about Charlie Taylor, but the vet said it probably won't be bad enough that he will even notice it, especially since the other cats seem to be fighting it off. I'm not letting any of the other cats in with Charlie right now, until this is over.

Margaret had her six-month check up for pancreatic cancer -- she is complely clear!!! She will have day surgery next Wednesday to fix two hernias she didn't know she had.

Finally Friday with Charlie Taylor

This is Charlie, all wrapped up in his special blanket, ready to go to sleep.

This is Charlie, sleeping on my right shoulder, with his paws on my face. Isn't he just the cutest little snuggle bug.

Charlie Taylor seems to be doing fine. I've started serving him small portions approximately every three hours, just a tablespoon of canned food with the juice. Yesterday he had his first normal poop (hope this isn't TMI, but for us kitty mommies, it is important). Daddy Charley said he looks "furrier", I'm not sure what that means, but he definitely notices a difference.

Charlie goes back to see Dr. Smith on June 10th.

Again, thank you to everyone who made Charlie's recovery possible, whether through purrs and purrayers, donations or both.

Wednesday

This is my latest photo, taken Tuesday evening. I spent a lot of nap time sleeping on Mommie ML's lap. The other cats came in with us, it was nice, I am starting to feel like a real family member. ~Charlie Taylor

presented by Peggy and the Cats
We have a couple of welcome home awards... for Dylan, who was lost, and Charlie Cat, who was at the v-e-t for so long. They are home now, where they belong. So Dylan and Charlie Cat, take one and display it proudly :)

Toosday

Today I left the door open to Charlie's "room", the back bedroom. All the cats except for Missy and Faith Boomerang have been in and out.

Charlie is sleeping on the bed, on his heating pad, very relaxed. I've made sure he is not stressed. When he needs to eat, drink or use his litter box, he jumps up and heads right over. No matter who is in his way. He knows that's his room.

I've been bringing him snacks about every two hours, am determined he is going to gain some weight before the next vet visit (6/10).
