Sunday Morning

Since Charlie Cat went to The Bridge, Smokey has been sleeping with me every night. Here's a picture from this morning... that's Sol right behind him.
Smokey actually sleeps on me, this was taken after I pushed him off to take the photo.
Smokey tries to come up and sleep right where Charlie slept, it is just the sweetest thing.

A Pendant...

Isn't this beautiful?
A very talented artist on Etsy made this for me,
with part of the quote from Melvin's slideshow.

The Sweetest Gifts - Updated!

"We are purring for your loss here... Momma made this for you! If you would like a different background color or size to print or size for wall paper please just let her know! Hugs Shadow, Mom and Nanna! (Angel and Kirby's Mom)"

Charlie had a great home of his own,
'Til his human got sick, leaving him all alone.

Taylors and Sherwoods found him

And to their hearts bound him.

Now he's at the Bridge, nevermore on his own.
...From Karen Jo's Kitty Limericks

I love this beautiful memorial graphic from the Hotties.

I can't forget the amazing slideshow from Melvin, must have viewed it a gazillion times. It's near the bottom of his post, and it is also on my blog (the post under this one).

These are so beautiful, so sweet and thoughtful, I am speechless.
Thank you from the bottom of my [broken] heart.
And thanks to each and every one of you who took the time to leave comments, send emails, cards, make phone calls, etc. You are the best group of folks anywhere.

Rest Well, Charlie Cat

A huge thank you Melvin for this beautiful slideshow... it is purrfection. I had to borrow steal it off his bloggie. You have no idea how much this means, Charlie Taylor was definitely my cat. ~ML

For those who asked, here is Charlie Taylor's Catster Page.

Charlie Taylor Needs Purrs

I've got to get Charlie Taylor to the vet, I didn't get any sleep all night.
He has lost a bit of weight and is not eating. He sounds congested and has a very slight cough.
I just went in and located him, asleep on a blanket, but he had peed right on the blanket.
Dr. Smith said he is in renal failure, you know, way back when she first treated him.
We can't treat him for that because of the heart problems.
I am so scared I can barely function right now. Charley (hubby) is going to drive, thank goodness.
I hope he has a lot more time left.... but it's not up to me.
Please send some purrs and purrayers for him.

Adopt-A-Less-Adoptable-Pet-Day

Go to Petfinder.com to learn more about Adopt-a-Less-Adoptable-Pet Day.

Having adopted Charlie Taylor, a senior kitty, I cannot recommend an older cat enough. Charlie has been around, he is just a cool cat. He has taught us so many neat things in just a few short months, it has been one of the best things we ever did.

Thanks to Victor & Nina for telling us about this.

Loa's new kitty

This little girl has adopted Loa and her bunch and totally captivated them. They are feeling better for the first time in a long time. Loa has been through so much this year. She lost three of her babies, one after the other, and, in the process, she spent all her savings.

To make sure this little cutie gets fixed right away, Momsbusy, Deb and I -- and more from your comments -- now have a brand new blog. Go here to donate for Loa's New Kitten and to see our auctions and raffles.

KC is offering a ragdoll / clothing / DVD / poster set coming up this week!

Hansel will have auctions and raffles for Loa's New Kitten.

A Name The Kitty Contest is coming up!

Stay tuned!

World Cat Day

Today is the first celebration of World Cat Day

What a wonderful day to welcome Sweetie Pie & Ethan to their forever home!

Update 8 AM Pacific!
Sweetie Pie and Ethan were just adopted by Mom Karen.

They were taken to a vet for checkups and hoohaaectomies.
Should be ready to travel to Mom Leigh-Ann later this week.
We’s working on tha updated arrangements!

Mom Leigh-Ann runs the Wee Paws Animal Sanctuary in Las Vegas. On Friday, she saw a frightened, injured kitty on Craigslist and her heart went out to him. He was located in Los Angeles and she emailed KC at the Cat Blogosphere to see if she could help get him to Las Vegas.
KC sprang into action and immediately suggested Mom Karen, Auntie Deb and I for the "death row" rescue. We did this a few years ago for a yellow-dotted KC at a shelter not far from this one!

Veronica, of East Valley Shelter, is a very nice lady who was very happy to see Sweetie Pie get a forever home. She extended the offer to make it a "twofur" adoption and Leigh-Ann chose Ethan, a ten-year old cat with bad teeth. Isn't he handsome!
We had lots of support in getting the word out fast from an old friend, Celene of Hurricane Pet Rescue. In a matter of minutes, she had notified hundreds of cat lovers like Lark, Kim and Cindy, all of whom were eager to help.

Deb and I are financing this wonderful adventure ourselves and Karen is donating her only day off in a six-day work week.

Donations can be made for Sweetie Pie & Ethan at the Wee Paws Animal Sanctuary for their expenses and vet bills. There is also a link directly to their vet.

Donations are also welcome at LA's East Valley Shelter (KC was from the neighboring Harbor Shelter) and Hurricane Pet Rescue (scroll down to find the donate buttons). These are non-profit organizations, so all donations are tax-deductible.

We wish we could give them all unlimited funds so every stray cat and dog could have a loving home.

Have a very Happy World Cat Day
and
Happy Gotcha Day to Sweetie Pie and Ethan
!

Former Feral Friday - BJ

Could BJ be any cuter?
He's napping on my closet shelf -- on the clean, folded sheets.
Look at how his little back paws are folded... look at the "frost" on his fur.

OK, technically, BJ wasn't feral, but his Momma Dinah was, so that should count for something. Otherwise, I'd have to save the picture for Mancat Monday and I really wanted to post it today. ~ML

pee ess: The spider bitey is healing, looking much better. Thanks for all the purrs.

An Award from Faz

Faz the Cat gave us this grrreat award and we will pass it on to anyone who hafn't gotten it yet.

Faz's post gave us quite a startle, there is a photo of a spider (!!!).
Mommy ML has a large rotty spot on hers leg from a spider bitey last week, so hers don't wanna see no more spiders. Ever.

BTW, Charlie Cat's eye infekshun is jus about gone now, him's doing so much better.
Love & Purrs,
KC

pee ess: Iffen you's wanna see what a brown spider bitey looks like, click here. Mommy ML's is about tha size of a quarter wif annother couple of inches of red ring around it. It's on tha side of hers lower leg. Before hers went outside to use tha tellyscope, hers was cleaning, moving boxes out of tha closet, probably when hers gotted tha bitey.
This shows another bite an explains tha symptoms, all of which she haf hadded.
