A Grrreat Chrissy Mouse

We had so many good furriends come an visit wif us, gotted so many wonnerful gifts, and us kitties got a ton of cards... it was tha bestest Christmas ever.
Mommy ML's favorite present was from Daddy Charley. A new purse, kinda little but purrfect cause you can wear it over yours body. But look at why hers loves it so much:

A Wonnerful Toosday

Mommy ML had a whopper of a my grain today an had to get shots fur it.
Hers is doing better an hers will be able to help me post later.
Effurryone who participated in Gracie's Aukshuns, we will get effurrything straightened out and tha money to Fiona fur her surjery coming up next week.

We losted a good furriend today, Cuddles. Cuddles and Puddles are two gorgeous glossy grey kitties, brofur and sisfur, of ours grrreat furriend, Susy. Mr. Cuddles ran off to tha Bridge today. We is sad cause we know how much Mommy Susy is hurtin' right now, wifout hers boy. But we know hims wif our Charlie Cat, playing and romping around tha Bridge.

Tomorrow morning I's haf a doktor appointment, I's not feeling good either. Dr. Smith will take real good care of me. So iffen I don't post or comment, we's at tha vets.

pee ess: Just gotted a big package from Peggy & The Cats! It sure cheered Mommy ML up a lot. We'll post pickshures later... it is a beautiful hairy blankie in tha most gorgeous pastels efur. And some relaxin' stuff to listen to. Mommy said she will not aukshun tha blankie off, she will donate $$$ for it to Fiona's fund.

An cause this was so neat, Mommy changed tha title of tha post from "Miserable Monday". Furrst, as we cats tried to tell hers, it is Toosday, not Monday. Hers so goofy from tha meds, y'know. But it's not "Miserable" anymores. She's gonna listen to some relaxin' CDs an let tha meds work thems magik. Fanks, Peggy & The Cats.

Rainy Days

Sorry we hafn't posted much.
It's all mine Mommy ML's fault... she haf these My Grains. It's been like tha Rain Planet here in Hooston tha last few days. Cool and rainy, warm and rainy, windy and rainy. Rain makes My Grains. Mommy gets shots fur My Grains and then she sleeps all tha time. No fun at all.

Fun Friday

This is Fun Friday and I wanted to share a few things we enjoy. Sometimes making things yourself is lots of fun. Especially when you have six curious cats to assist you.

Fun #1. Check out the selection of free Holiday things to make offered by The Toymaker herself, Marilyn Scott-Waters. Most holidays are covered and this is just a small portion of a website packed with things to do.


These graphics are from her Christmas section. The design above is part of a gift tag. Below is a pattern to print and assemble into a peppermint cane gift bag. I made a few of these and put wrapped candies in them. They work wonders as an inexpensive way to brighten a shut-in neighbors day!
Most of the items are in a PDF file so you will need Adobe Acrobat (a free download) to read and print the files.

Marilyn has a neat book, The Toymaker: Paper Toys That You Can Make Yourself.

Fun #2. To scent your home with a spicy orange fragrance, take thin slices of orange peel (you can use a veggie peeler) pierced with cloves, spread on a cookie sheet and place in a warm oven (not hot) until dried. Turn off the oven and they will continue to scent the house.

Since I have severe allergies to chemicals, using a synthetic fragrance is not an option. This is completely natural and also inexpensive. Of course, baking pies and cookies also makes a house smell good!

This beautiful pendant and earring set from the Hotties will be auctioned to help Fiona. She has serious gum and tooth problems that require expensive surgery. The only alternative to the surgery would be to have her euthanized.
Bidding will take place on the Furriends of the CB blog.

Fiona could use some purrs, she will be at the vets today for pre-surgery tests.

Snow Day

I've been staying indoors, looking at the snow falling outside my window.

It's probably not a lot of snow for most of you, but for us, it is an event.
Houston never has snow... and never before January.
Well, last year we had a few flakes around December 10th.
Nothing like this!

IT'S SNOWING OUTSIDE!!!!!!!
It's 11:40 a.m. and it is pouring snow!
It's a blizzard... but it's not sticking, not yet anyways.
It's 7:20 a.m. and there is a mix of rain, sleet and snow.
It is supposed to snow today.

Snow is a "big deal" in Hooston...
it snows in San Anton an Austin most years...
an it ices up in Dallas effurry year... Mommy says that's why we moved to Hooston

Now, to tha surprise.
Purrsistent Gracie haf been wanting a VSquillion furr effer.
A noo litter is due out in a few days, so we haf some fur adoptshuns.

And we haf a specshul blog just fur VSquillions.
It's noo an not real purrty yet, but wanted effurryone to be in on it from tha start.

Another big surprise is that Gracie wants to be the noo Shelter Keeper.
So starting on Monday or wheneffer she gets back, I'll start training hers.
