Birthday/Gotcha Day for the boys.

There's plenty to chase,
it's Frog and Junebug Season here on the bayou.
We've also spotted some palm roaches
that should be in the Guiness Book of World Records.

Enjoy some Real Live Dead Chick-hen,
served with a side of Crunchy Lizzies
and a few slices of Roast Beast and a Nip'tini or three!
(We're going to pass on local seafood from the Gulf of Mexico this year.
And maybe all years to come.)
For dessert, a slice or two of Fresh Creamed Mouse Cake
smothered with Catnip Ice Cream and sprinkled with Cat Mint.

We wish Nikita & Elvira's Daddy Kiril a speedy recovery after his bike accident late last night. We did learn the bike is repair-able.

Katiez Furry Mewz are trying to save the life of tiny Miri. She is so young she may not survive till we can hold an auction. We just made a donation to help her and we will run a Speshul Sherwood Kitty Aukshun starting August 6th.

Mancat Monday With Smokey

Smokey enjoyed a relaxing weekend.

We transferred to a new laptop and Windows 7.

So far, all is well.

One of the first shots of KC in Houston, in the car on the way home from the airport. She's just discovered her Daddy Charley!

Although she did allow me to hold her a bit, it was obvious who was her favorite.

And here she is today, a gorgeous big girl.
And she still likes her Daddy Charley the best!

This past week, another abandoned California Tortie found a Daddy to wrap around her paw! It has been so much fun watching as Daddy Kiril and "big brofur" Nikita open their home and hearts to sweet little Miss Elvira. Nikita's bloggie is here, where there are a series of posts following her first few days with the family. The latest post is here and we are awaiting an update.

Only the fact that she must have rolled away from the wall gave her away.

Friday with Sol, Smokey & BJ

Mancatliness Overload

This is Smokey, you can tell by the white furs on his belly.
He also has one white whisker over his eye.
He is the lightest black of the three boys, as someone said, their Momma Dinah was "running out of toner".

Here is BJ, he's the largest of all the cats. And the humblest.
He is just a bit darker than Smokey, but not as dark as Sol.

Finally, here is Sol, aka Solitaire Noir, the "guard cat".
He is the second largest cat, although he was the runt of the litter.
He is shiny dark black with a milk moustache.

These are my beautiful boy cats... I am so thankful for them.

They are piled on one of Peggy's wonderful Hairy Blankies,
which they shared with me!!!

Toosday Tortie Attack

This is what my orderly, neat kitchen looked like when I walked in earlier.
* Gasp *

A bottom drawer had been pulled open.
All of the baggies and potholders were pulled out onto the floor.
The pantry door was also ajar,
and Temptation packages and stored kitty kibble were also on the floor.

And all the bags... empty, full, whatever... they all shared one thing in common!
A puzzling series of tiny toofy marks...

... some worse than others!

But the biggest surprise came as I began putting items back in the bottom drawer and two floppy paws reached out and grabbed my hands!
Did I scream?
I'll bet Auntie Deb heard me all the way in DC.
Miss Faith Boomerang had somehow gotten behind the drawer,
( see the arrow above )
into the cabinet assembly and could not get back out.
I had to empty the drawer and remove it to free her.
