Wordless Wednesday - Faith Boomerang

Almost wordless:
This was an hour or so after opening a lovely gift package from Casper to Missy Blue Eyes.
It appears The Captain had discovered Faith Boomerang's weakness.

( I do believe Miss Boomerang had eaten her fill and was guarding the remainder for later )

Mancat Monday Smokey

Here's Smokey somewhere he usually doesn't go, at least for long.
Only as a hopping off place in one of his games of
Thundering Acrobatic Elephants where
he bounds around the house while never once touching the floor.
This is the famous meeting place of Casper and Missy.
And if you biggify the picture, you will see that Smokey is not alone!

Hope everyone has a great Monday.

Monday Mighty KC

Down here in the Gulf Coast area, Spring is marked by the onset of big roaches.
Once in the house, they tend to run or fly at people with their wings buzzing.

This happened a few nights ago.
A very large roach was running across the floor at me.
I let out a loud shriek.
My three big mancats, normally protector cats, took one look, turned and ran.
Missy was already watching from the top of a tall cat tree.
The normally up-for-anything Faith Boo saw the boys leave and also ran.
I stood there, frozen, watching this big noisy bug approach.

Suddenly, a dainty little waif of a kitten swooped down,
gently scooped the offensive creature up in her paws,
chomped it in two pieces,
dropped it back in front of me.
Then she delicately hopped back up to her sleepy place.
But not before giving the boys a withering look.
I turned and saw five cat heads hang in shame.

Well done, KC.

It's not the size of the cat in the fight,
It's the size of the fight in the cat.

Update

Well, since Daddy Charles stopped over-medicating himself,  most all of his problems have gone away.
His personality was the most dramatic change.
Plus the constant stomach problems, the headaches, everything.
He is almost his normal self again.
So we are back to our "normal" schedule.
We have a long-standing appointment today, so I guess we will keep it.

He will see Dr. Bob Friday morning, and we will both get bloodwork.
I will get Dr. Bob to go over the importance of not overdosing on meds. Again.
Also, I am going to see if we qualify for some kind of home nursing care.
Someone to come in and monitor his meds and blood sugar, etc. since he is violently opposed to me even looking at this. (Why?)
Thanks again for all the support, purrs, grrs, purrayers.

Missy Monday & Update

Peekaboo, I see you!
It's pretty Missy, or Mew-Mew, which is what I call her.
What a pretty girl.
We like to go back in my room and shut the door and have some quiet.
Haven't done that much lately.

****************************

Daddy Charley finally admitted he has been taking way more of his drugs than he should have.
I want to have a nurse come in to watch him. I believe he qualifies under medicare.

Sweet precious KC actually seems to be a bit better.
I am so happy. She's been sleeping a lot, by the vaporizer.

As for Monday, I hope to get KC in early to Dr. Smith.
And then Charles in to Dr. Bob before the office opens.
Thank you again for all the support.
If there were just some sort of PTU for men, maybe luring them in with hi-tech TV's and gadgets and then, snap, it shuts before they realize it's a trap. Muhahahaha.
I'll be first in line when that's invented.

KC Update

KC did not get to see Dr. Smith on Saturday.
She is doing okay, I steam her as needed,
she is hanging in there.
I called Dr. Smith and told her I would drop KC off Monday morning.

The reason is because I have been caring for Daddy Charles
almost around the clock.
He is very, very sick.
He is impossible to get to a doctor, worse than KC.
He has diabetes and is having very serious symptoms.
I am determined he is going to see Dr. Bob,
not sure how that will be accomplished.
Send those purrs to me, that I can think of a way to do this.
Thank you.

Mickey

Mickey went to the Bridge yesterday.
He was one of the most beloved cats in the Cat Blogosphere.
I can't believe he is gone.
Please send purrs and love to his Mom Nancy
and to his kitty-bride, Misses Peach.

Friday - KC

This beautiful print was choosen by Jack & Family for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. It contains symbolism for the victims.
They have a post on their blog for all the new Angel Cats at The Bridge.

We are also sending purrs and purrayers to Jack's Dad, The Big One,
who lost his baby sister unexpectedly. He is, of course, heartbroken.

KC is still resting, not moving much.
She will see Dr. Smith at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow.
Daddy Charles is sick again, 6th day out of 7 this week.
He will see the doctor Tuesday. No way he gets out of it this time.

Thankful Thursday - KC

KC has an appointment on Saturday morning with Dr. Smith,
can't wait to see what she finds.
She left a phone message today with a lot of ideas about what could be wrong.

KC is doing better and worse.
She slept most of the day, she didn't want to move or play.
She up once and was completely stuffed up, and starting to panic.
I took her in and we sat by the tub and let her "steam" for awhile.
Per your suggestions, I found a CD of Harp Music. I put it on and it did calm her down.

Dr. Smith has her on lysine daily, and she is also on one baytril tablet a day.
She is extremely hard to pill, I have to crush it, mix it in liquid and use a dropper to get it down her throat. I usually end up "wearing" most of it; I now have a "baytril" T-shirt.
She is curled up beside me asleep, I'll take her in with the vaporizer in a few minutes.

Again, thanks to everyone for your support and suggestions.
I know KC hears every purr and grrr and purrayer.
Thank you so much.

Wordy Wednesday - KC

KC slept most of the day Tuesday.
(you can see Daddy Charles' legs behind her!)
She is able to breath fairly well on one side, it is the other side that has us so worried.

We'll let her rest now and get some strength back
and deal with the tests probably next week.

Thank you so much for all the wonderful purrs
and for the good ideas.

Zoolatry made this for KC and I, isn't it gorgeous.
There is sweet KC when she was feeling better, be glad to see her looking like that soon.
Everyone who wishes, please post this on your blog.
And thank you, once again, Ann.

Jack put together a huge post for KC, which made her feel much better.
He is on his way to snuggle with her.

Again, thank you for the purrs, I know they are making the difference.

Purrs for KC

Just got home from the vet, KC was hiding all day. When I found her, she was having very labored breathing. Rushed her to the vet nearest us and still open.
He gave her an antibiotic shot, thinks this could be related to her problems as a kitten or might be something worse. He said to watch her closely all night for symptoms of worsening. I have an emergency number to call, the Sugarland Emergency Vet Number.
It may a polyp blocking her breathing, it maybe a cold, or it could be something else.
His plan is to try a round of antibiotics and see if it works, if her breathing, which is very labored and strained, improves. He said it was very bad.
If it doesn't, he wants to send her to a specialist for surgery and tests.
She is really uncomfortable, is having a hard time breathing, it is breaking my heart.
She will not let me set her down.
Please send her purrs that is just a cold or her problem from being a stray.

pee ess: Yes, thank you for the suggestion... I did take her in the bathroom and let her sit on the side of the tub while I took a quickie bath. It's her favorite thing to do. She loves to test the water temp with her tail. Of course, I got out sorta fast when she started snorting into the tub. But that was good for her.
And I do have the vaporizer going right by the bed, aimed at her "spot". That's what she was wanting from the time I got her home, to go to bed and lay in the steam. She's a pretty smart little tortie.

Update: 2:30 AM
KC has been "steaming" and is getting rid of more snot. One nose is almost completely clear.

That helps so much, because all day both sides were totally blocked. She was shaky, gasping and struggling to get air. When I asked the vet if she would be all right overnight, since her breathing was so labored, he just said, "I hope so". Didn't sound very hopeful.
Maybe we can both get a few hours rest now.

Taking a Break

Now we are taking a break from blogging for real, but this time I had to let you know why I was doing this.
Couldn't miss Missy's Birthday, and I thank everyone for the many comments.
She celebrated the day with a bit of her favorite snack, air-popped popcorn.

A few days before, I received several really mean hate-emails.
To think that someone on the CB -- and I really don't know that they were --
could write such things shook me up a bit.
That's all I want to say about it, except they weren't signed and I did delete them immediately without thinking, just sort of a reaction.

Anyway, KC will be running the CB and I will be involved in the auctions.
We have a real sweetheart we are trying to help.
Her name is Shell, you can see her on the sidebar.

Happy Birthday Missy Blue Eyes

Happy Birthday to sweet Missy Blue Eyes.
