Happy Birthday To Our Mancats!

Happy 4th Birthday Sol, Smokey & BJ.

Just a few years ago today I was awakened at about 1:30 a.m. with squeaking noises from the bathroom. 

It was Momma Dinah's beautiful kittens.

All of the photos and daily info was in The Mites blog, which appears to have been been taken over by someone else. I am just sick about this.

We are wishing man cats Sol, Smokey and Brutus Jr. the best birthday ever.

BTW, we share a birthday/gotcha day with the lovely Samantha! 
And they are haffing a party, so stop by. We's fixing to go over there, too.

Former Feral Faith Boomerang

 

The lovely Miss Faith Boomerang has been taking care of me while the Missy-bites heal. 

I made a place all her own beside the bed, on a quilt so she could watch over me.

Of course, then I had to get photos, she looked so sweet.

Who wouldn't feel better with such a nice kitty around.

Purrs Needed for Mommy ML

Update!

Mine Mommy ML is home again.
Hers gotted a tetnus shot and some Auntie Biotic pills and shots.
Tha doktor said tha infekshun could be going into the tendons and bones in hers hand.
Then hers would need surjery to get it out.
So hers haf to keep it elevated and try not to use it!
Iffen its not looking better in a few days, hers haf to go back fur more Auntie Biotic.
So keep them purrs coming... they are working so good!!!
And maybe send a purr or two towards Missy Blue Eyes, that she will stop biting the hand that feeds her!!!!

Remember back on July 12th, when Missy bited Mommy ML really hard? 

So hard hers gotted hers toof stuck in Mommy's hand?

Well, Mommy ML's hand is still swollen terribly big, huge. 

And it's hurty and red and hot.

So hers going to tha doktor today and see if he can make it all better.

Please send some purrs and grrrssss that it be okay.

Also, send purrs for Auntie Deb and sweet Spats. 

They see tha specialist at 10:30 a.m. eastern time cause Spats has fluid on hers heart and lungs. 

Send purrs that it is just an infekshun and not "C" or heart trouble.

And please, some more purrs fur Ayla and TBT, they haf been thru so much lately.

Tummy Toosday With Sol

Sunday Update: Fanks fur tha heads up about being mine 5th Gotcha Day instead of tha 4th.
Mom ML says it seems like yesterday since I get heres.
Also, I've started playing again.
Last night I finded a belt and dragged it all over the house. Then Smokey gotted it and put it in tha water fountain. He always does that wif effurryfing. We had a fast game of Elephants, too. I's feeling much better! Fanks to effurryone fur tha purrs and fur sharing mine Gotcha Day wif me.

Here we are, home from the airport and KC is snuggling into what will be her favorite sleeping position on her favorite person.

I'm trying to get a good photo of her to post and she is having none of it. I'll try later.

She has responded very well to the medications. 

But she is getting stuffy again.

I'll have to try using the nose drops, if I can't, I'll take her to Dr. Smith and let her do it.

Tortie Toosday - KC at the Vet

Sweet KC was not feeling well all weekend.

 KC went to see Dr. Smith and her wonderful crew yesterday.

She has been feeling bad for a few days and her little nosey was completely stuffed up.

She got two shots and some IV fluids to hydrate her.

She's still not up to par yet and is resting with her brofurs guarding her.

If you didn't catch yesterday's post, the kitties did a review of the KatKabin. 

Our review KatKabin is being shipped off to Susan today. 

She is a fantastic cat rescue person and we know she will put it to good use.

We auctioned it off to raise funds for Wee Paws!

Even though KatKabins were designed to provide protection and safety for outdoor cats, 

we think they look equally great indoors. 

The kitties are very sad to see it go, as they really enjoyed it for the review.

Zach informed us yesterday that they will be sending them their very own KatKabin!!!

And for a family of cats as close as the Sherwood Kitties are, it is purrfection! 

They can all pile inside, together, the way they love to sleep and snuggle. 

We'll have a special post when it arrives, hopefully get photos of all 6 cats inside!

KC & Kitties Review the KatKabin

Miss Faith Boomerang loves this KatKabin and does not want to leave!

The KatKabin was originally designed to provide a secure and comfortable place for your cat to use outdoors, sheltered from the elements.

Our KatKabin arrived in excellent shape!

KatKabin Dimensions  22" L x 16" W x 13" H
Door Opening 6.5" W x 7" H
Weight 10 pounds

Included: Insulating cushion with removeable washable cover and a clear front cover flap.

(The unit we received did not include a cushion, cover or door flap, so these are not reviewed)

Assembly Required: Insert the cushion and attach cat door.

Miss Boomerang checks out the interior while brofur Brutus Jr. admires the sleek, aerodynamic lines!

One of the first things you will notice is the sleek aerodynamic design. The oval sides allow the wind to move through without turning it over or blowing away.

There are a series of ventilation holes on the upper back panel to allow air circulation. Strips of black plastic seal all seams and joints to make it weatherproof. It would offer a lot of protection outside in cold weather, particularly if you purchased the extra warmer and/or fleece pads that are available. And it appears to be well-ventilated for the warmer climates.

You can see the protective overhang in the front; 
this is where the clear plastic door would be installed if we had one! 

The entire unit is made from a high-grade fade resistant material that can withstand a wide range of temperatures. It has a slick shiny surface that gives is a modern look. It comes in gorgeous colors and is very lightweight. There is a front overhang to protect the door area.

Four feet on the bottom lift it up off the ground, away from the heat or cold. There are also holes in the feet to secure the Kabin. This is a very good feature if you live in a windy area or are worried about it being stolen or moved.

We gave the KatKabin a six-tail salute (out of 6 cats). 

My cats really enjoyed the KatKabin. They actually left their cardboard boxes*!!!
I think it would make a great cat bed indoors, love the way it looks in a room.
Besides being so practical, it is a lot of fun, from the bright color to the fact that the entire unit looks like a big pink kitty cat, complete with ears, whiskers and paws. It looks neat indoors and provides a spacious hang out for the kitties. I auctioned this KatKabin to raise money for Wee Paws and am going to have a difficult time getting it away from my cats to ship tomorrow. It is going to a very special friend to rescued cats, so it will be well used.

Update: Zach just emailed and The Sherwood Bunch will be getting their very own KatKabin! Yay!

*As any true cat person knows, cats do not abandon their cardboard boxes on a whim! Congratulations, KatKabin!

Lookie Who Came to Live Wif Us!

 It's Mr. Pooh!

 

Mr. Pooh was living wif Katie & The Kats in Virginger and now he's here wif us.

Mine Mom ML really really really likes him.

She said she has wanted a bear like this all hers life.

Him is a golden mohair Steiff Bear, weighs 12 pounds and is 3.5' tall.

And he was born about 1950, so him's really really old.

We all want to fank Katie & The Mishkats for 

being so generous and sending Mr. Pooh heres to lif.

He haf a wonderful furever home wif all of us.

pee ess: Mom ML's wrist and hand look much better. 

It never got infected. She had just had shots after she fractured her back a few months ago. 

Sheesh, aren't mommies hard to take care of? 

They's always getting into sumfing. You haf to watch 'em effurry minute.

Mom ML is worried about Missy Blue Eyes, says she's acting funny. 

How can she tell, Missy always acts funny, she's a hissy piffy cat.

But iffen Missy even hisses at Mommy, the boys and I are ready to take her out. 

I guess us cats know sumfing about Missy that Mommy doesn't know.

Let's just say we's got our eyes on Missy.

Mom ML haf no feeling in her right hand and cannot move hers fingers.

Tomorrow morning, iffen it is like this, she will go to tha dockter.
Missy bited so hard she got her toofs stuck in Mommy's wrist!
BJ, Smokey and Sol cornered Missy and began to attack her.
Mom ML had to grab Missy away, afraid they would hurt or even kill her.
She was trying to lift Missy out of harms way and all the while Missy was chomping on her hand.
