is i a tortie or a calico....?

per Dr. Smith -- KC is a CALICO!
But she is -- and will always be --
a TOUGH AS* TORTIE to me!

Dr. Smith (Houston Cat Hospital) loved her Offishul KC Ree-purrter Tee Shirt and the Cat Blogosphere Calendar. And Robyn -- who created the items -- probably felt her ears burning for hours (and the best part, 100% of the profit goes straight to needy families for the holidays).

KC had her stitch removed -- that's right, one stitch remained! She weighs 5 lbs 1 ounce, she has gained weight. KC scaled the office from floor to near ceiling, showing off her prowess at climbing and leaping. She is in purr-fect health, with silky, glossy fur, the biggest eyes -- just a "true goddess" of a cat. ahem, we had to pry KC away from Dr. Smith's vise-like grip.
pee ess to Kat: We did get some eye drops, Triple AB ointment, she had a slight eye infection.

What a stinker! So she removed her own stitches except for one?! Glad she got a good report and drops and meds for her eye. What a great doctor Dr. Smith is!

I so love my CB calendar too! And ML, you need to take a picture of KC's Ree-purrter T-shirt so we can all see it!

I'm glad she left one stitch for the vet to remove. It makes them feel needed. Grin. I am happy that she is so healthy, eye infection excepted.

Good new for KC. And she is a tough A$$ kittie, regardless of calico, tortie, ginger or meezer.

Darn right, KC is and will always be my little tough ass tortie (thanks, Rosie). Dr. Smith & crew were getting quite the laugh out of that one.

Also, KC's eye infection is actually gone, I am a worry-wart and got the drops as a 'safe rather than sorry' precaution. So it cleared up on it's own.

nuh-uh! I disagree! KC is *totally* a TORTIE!!!! :)

See, I TOLD you she was a goddess! She's a Valkyrie Cat! (ok, ok, my OTW says that's demi-goddesses, but STILL!!!)

Tortie, calico, whatever, she's still the most beautifulest cat ever so it doesn't matter what she's called 'cause she's like no other kitty!!!

Hee, my new sister just got her ladiegardenectomy this morning and she's already trying to lick out her stitches too!

....ahem.....KC....I'm sorry you're having an identity crisis...but don't worry.....if you're not a tough a*s tortie you can always be a kick-a*s calico!...

Anonymous said...

I gots that too but my vet sez I'm a torti .

Here's what the Cat Fanciers website sez:

"There is special terminology for tortoiseshells with white markings, depending on how much white they have:

* A "tortoiseshell and white" or "blue-cream and white" has only small white areas. The body has mingled colors.
* A "calico" has more white. As a rule, the more white there is on the cat, the larger and more distinct the red and black patches will be. You'll notice that the large black patches are solid black, and the large red patches are actually red tabby. "

But who cares, ya gots "tortie-tude" don't ya?

Most 'portantly, yur better!

We had the similar discussion of is she "calico" or is she "torti" when I came to live with the Oligarchy.
My humans thought they adopted a calico kitten, but when they read my adoption papers, they said I was a "torti/white"
Victor said I could be a "tortico" so that's what I choose to be.

Glad KC left at least one stitch in!

Oh, who cares if KC is a Torti or a Calico. She is still just a sweet sweet girl who is growing into a beautiful cat. Just ask her, she will tell you. Actually, you don't have to ask her, just look at the pretty pictues of her. Just so glad that she is well and healthy once again.
