Yesterday, I dislocated the lower portion of my right leg trying to re-position 200+ pounds of dead weight (i.e., Charley, who is paralyzed on one side). Basically, as I tried to heave him forward, part of my leg turned at the knee and the other part didn't.
After about an hour of having the leg drawn up (bent at the knee), I managed to un-pop it. Have since been told this was not the thing to do! Anyway, the doctor is talking about surgery to shorten the tendons, etc etc. All of which would mean a lot of bed rest and crutches, which is out of the question.
Bear is doing great, her appetite isn't what it was, but she'll survive (hee hee). Also, found out she would do anything for Temptations. Missy and KC are fine, too. In fact, KC got a scratching post like Daisy, just have to take some photos to display.
Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes for Bear, and now (sigh) for me!

Oh, ML, we hope it doesn't come to surgery. We are glad Bear is doing better. Will continue purring for entire family to recover quickly.
Goodness - we hope you get better soon.
Oh my goodness. We hope you will be OK.
I saw on the cat blogoshere you posted that the movie "Ghost Cat" wil be on Animal Planet this Friday. I tried to find it on the AP webpage so I can set the VCR to record it, but could not find it. Are you sure of the time and channel? I don't have TiVo, so still have to mees around with a VCR.
ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow. Has your doctor recommended Physical Therapy? A friend of mommy's had great success with that after she took a tumble down the steps (ice last winter!) She also asked her regular therapist for water exercises because she was a member of the YMCA and they have an indoor pool and she said that felt great. There is a PT place here that has hydrotherapy, but her insurance wouldn't pay for that one.
We're crossing our paws and fingers that you feel all better soon. We hope the rest of 2007 is nothing but health and happiness.
Oh I'm so sorry to hear you hurt yourself so badly. I hope it doesn't require surgery!
I'm glad, tho, that Bear is feeling better.
Eeek! That sounds nasty! Do take care of yourself.

Oh goodness, ML. We sure hope you don't have to have surgery. Maybe just some physical therapy will help, hopefully. Glad to see that Bear is doing so much better. We're praying and purring for all of you.

Oh no! That sounds very painful. Sending lots of healing purrs your way.
As a physiotherapist-in-training, my mom seconds Hendrix' recommendation to get a prescription for physical therapy. It can really help a lot!
ML -
I agree with mr. hendrix's comment - is Physical Therapy an option before surgery?
Take care of yourself!!!
Brew yourself a nice pot o'tea and get some "me" time in today!!!
cheers,
Morgen
I hope you get better and soon.
and what has happened to Orange
Cat??
Oh, no, ML! Ouch-beaucoodles. Here's hoping there's NO SURGERY needed. What a drag that would be.
I'm glad Bear is feeling better -- and that KC (and Missy?) have a new climbing toy. KC seems to do what Ruse does: lies on it sideways, just to see if anyone will play with him!!
Get better and better.
=)
Dang Mary Lynn, I sure hope your leg feels better. I'm so sorry that you are hurting. I pray it won't lead to surgery. May God Bless you and grant you healing.
Big ouchie! I popped my knee out of joint and back in again once in a fall and stretched out all the ligaments and tendons. I was put in a brace and told not to bend the knee for a couple of weeks. That took care of the problem without the need for surgery. I hope that your problem can be fixed as easily. Physical therapy is also a very good idea.
Yipe! The Cat-o-sphere is starting to look like a dangerous place to hang out.
My knee twinges in sympathy.
I'm not sure purrs are appropriate, but here's a {hug} at least.
