Sunday

Tomorrow KC goes to the vet --she has been grieving long and loud -- and I just figured it out yesterday.
At night she roams the halls meowing and crying at the top of her little lungs. She used to "patrol" and check on Bear, who slept in on the couch. Sometimes KC (and Missy) would sleep nearby Bear, watching over her.
During the day KC constantly whines for attention, but nothing helps. Then she has these "tears" where she is like a mad cat. She runs the halls, climbs the curtains, the shower curtain, tries to climb the walls ! Just a fury of activity.

Oh, dear. She really misses Bear, huh? I've heard of this loud yowling and then ripping and tearing around. Poor little one, she just doesn't understand.

We'll be sending purrs her way.

Oh goodness! She misses Bear! Let me know what Dr. Smith recommends. It will probably just take some time for her to adjust. When we lost Electra, Seaborne was so unhappy. That is when we adopted Sam. You might consider adopting another kitty/doggie the same age as KC. Talk to Dr. Smith and see what she says.

Love, Deb

Poor KC, I hope she will be OK. Its so hard on everyone.

Mom knows what you mean by having so much time that its depressing. Before Baby went to the bridge, Mom spent all of her time caring for him, that once he was gone, she was lost. Then she got me.......

Oh, poor KC. She misses Bear and doesn't know where she is. Bear was like a mother to KC when she came to live with you and they were inseparable. She's probably so lonely without Bear to play with and spend time with. I hope Dr. Smith can come up with something to help her through this. Maybe Deb is right, and you should consider getting her a playmate her own age.

Yep, little KC misses her woofie sis too. It will just take some time and extra attention, I'm sure. Like Marilynn said, she just doesn't understand. We'll say a special purrayer for KC.

Oh Mary Lynn, I knew KC was going to do this cause she was so close to Bear. She just wants to know where Bear is. She doesn't have anyone to care for anymore. She has always been closer to Bear than to Missy. She's grieving like you are. Purrs and prayers still going up for all of you.

Casper: I have to take over cause Mom is bawling like a baby. She was talking to Dad the other day and was wondering why Cleo came into our lives. She said maybe Cleo was suppose to help with Amber leaving us. Cleo came around in September and a year later in September Amber passed.

I was afraid of this, too. I knew KC was attached to Bear. Poor little thing. My heart aches for all of you.

Poor little KC. This is why it is so hard with animals. There is no way to make them understand. Bear is gone, and Mom is sad, and she doesn't understand. After Cheyenne passed and Cassie took Jasmine to Gainesville, Tocchet would often stare at me with a lost look. He had never been an only cat, and I could tell he was lonely. He was so glad when I brought Lemieux home a few weeks later. I'm sure Dr. Smith will know what to do.

Animals go through the grieving process too. I know this first hand. It's not only very hard on them, but on us as we don't know how on Earth to communicate to them that it will get better with time. I think Deb may have a good point. How is KC when it comes to Missy? Has she become really attached to her or just the opposite, taking it out on her?

Bless little KC's heart. Mom's getting all metaphysical and wants me to say maybe you can talk to her (both verbally and in your mind), explaining what happened to Bear and that Bear's like a guardian angel now.
