She started throwing up Thursday night, drinking tons of water,
sneezing, her eyes were swollen shut,
and -- most shocking of all -- she refused food!
The wonderful Dr. Smith and excellent staff graciously
worked her into their overbooked Friday schedule.
Turns out it was the same thing Momma Tortie had about two weeks ago.
We got the fishy (phew) lysine sprinkles for the food, some eye drops,
and, if needed, antibiotic for the next few days.
Dr. Smith noted Missy had "fight wounds" about the head
and I recalled Momma Tortie did also. Hmmmm.

I also asked them to shave Missy's fur mats off her rear,
back where her voluptuous figure prohibits her from grooming.
She can't relax and sit comfortably.
Then I became fascinated with the patterns on her skin
as well as the vertical appearance of the individual hairs:
there are 3-4 different areas (biggify the photo).
The base is brownish, then a much lighter area,
a darker area above that and finally a glistening "tip".
Oh, and she can do a highly immodest full monty now!

Oh, Missy, we were so scared when we read your linkie on the Cat Blogosphere! Thank goodness is something just medicine will fix!
You might want to get some longjohns, though ... that new bikini trim looks a little drafty! :-)

Oh, poor Missy, Momma Torti sounds kinda, sorta, aggressive. It's prolly only cuz Missy is a full grown lady cat too, but it's still not furry nice. Hope she feels better soon.
I went back and changed the title, didn't mean to worry anyone. We were very worried all night because of all the throwing up and not eating. Once we talked to Dr. Smith's office and took her in, of course, everything is ok.
Well, takes two to tangle, and she and Momma Tortie have a feud going on. MT has been confined to the bedroom and Missy to the rest of the house.
For the record, Momma Tortie gave Missy the URI and bit me. She acts very, very humble around us. She knows what she did!
Oh I am so sorry to hear that she was sick, but I am glad that she will get better! And how lovely to have the nasty mats off.
I am really sorry that Missy got sick, but very glad that it is something that rest and medicine can fix. ML, I have given you a golden rose. Please come by my blog to pick it up.
We're glad that missy is going to be ok. We's sending her purrrs.
Poor Missy, we are glad she is feeling a bit better. It sounds like she and Momma Tortie don't really get along, maybe it is time to find Momma Tortie a new home so that Missy can relax again!
Me again - oh yes, and if Momma Tortie was rehomed we wouldn't be worried about you getting bitten!
Thank goodness Missy is okay. I hope she feels all better soon.
Missy,I am so sorry you are having a hard time. I purray you will feel better soon.

Whoa, I'm glad to hear everything's turning out okay ... be well, Missy!
oh poor Missy & even Mommy Tortie. It sounds like they are working out their sister stuff.
I'm glad the medicine will make her all better soon. Maybe a sweet little sweater will keep her warm.
It is really cool how her skin has a color pattern. Mine is white white white (like my daddy's "engineer's tan).
Okay, Mr. Hendrix, I'll get the sweater, but you and your family have to put it on her. Hee hee.
No, Missy is fine now. A shot of antibiotic, some eyedrops and a little shaving, and she is feeling great.
We've both got to recover from Momma Tortie. Poor girl, I was hoping to keep her, but don't want to stress Missy.
Oh, Missy! The indignity of having bare patches! My furs have individual striping, too. It's a tabby thing. MY mats were brushed out against my will, while I was sleeping at the vet. Beware the things the bean adds to your food! I'm SURE my woman is trying to POISON me! Sure, I'm feeling better, but that's part of the trick!
Get better soon so ML can stop poisoning you. And tell her to get Momma Tortie's claws trimmed or even soft paws. Beans just don't know how to treat their queens. You poor, poor thing! Yours in sympathy, Bonnie
Missy, Bonnie sounds mad, but really, she's sayin Get Well Sooner! Me, too. Them medicines sure do make her feel better! I'd nefur use mine claws on Bonnie on purrpose. Healin purrs!
We are so happy that Missy is feeling better. We were admiring her beautiful "frosting" on her coat. It is just truly lovely!! Happy Holidays!!
