Veterans Day

On Veterans Day* we honor all those who served in the military, living or dead.
Remember, Freedom Isn't Free!

Remember to fank a vet today! No.... not that kind of vet, silly... a VETERAN!

I wants ta say a specshul fanks to mine GrandDaddy Lynn. Him flew a B52 an trained pilots an even sneaked Mommie aboard when she was a little bean (that's how she learned to love flying).
An to mine Daddy Charley, who drived little boats out of big boats ta land troops.
There be lots of veteran heroes out there and today shouldn't be tha only day we's remember an fanks them.
Pleeze post info about yours veteran heroes, we'd love ta hear about them!
Love and Purrs, KC

* Memorial Day is to honor those that served our country who are no longer with us, specifically, those who died while in service.

It is a good day to remember. Remembering makes us sad and happy at the same time.

Our hero is our Mum's Dad who was a pilot in the Glider Pilot Regiment in WW2. He flew on some very dangerous missions to rescue our British soldiers in France. He went to the Bridge in 1995 and we are sad that he is no longer with us.

A nice tribute. We still remember our Woman's father on Veteran's Day simply because his birthday was Nov 10th and so close. He did not die in battle.

I am very grateful to all those who have served in our armed forces over the years. Our country wouldn’t be what it is without them, then or now.

I have the following veterans in my family:
* My father, in the Army during WWII
* Two uncles, in the Army and Navy during WWII
*One uncle, in the Air Force during Korea
*My brother, in the Marines during Vietnam
*Two brothers-in-law, in the Army and Navy during Vietnam
*My son, who went through USNA at Annapolis, the Navy’s Nuclear Power School, and then was attached to submarines during the early-mid 1990s
*My son-in-law, in the Army in Germany in the mid-late 1980s

Of all these veterans, only one of my uncles has passed away. All the rest are leading happy, healthy lives, including the six who are retired.

Long live US veterans. They are our country’s backbone!
