Finally Friday

It's been a wild week out here, from the Cinco de Mayo party to the "modifications" to our house.

I made a lot of phone calls this week, attempting to get things set up. He has physical therapy twice a week. Occupational therapy will begin any day now, also twice a week. The home care nurse and assistance are still in the future, as is the hospital bed, portable toilet, shower bench and walker. I do have the wheelchair and special grab bars in the bathroom.

Charley isn't doing any better, but no worse, either. Someone said things that involve the brain just take time. He might just sit up one day and remember everything where he left off. Until he does, it will be a very lonely, scary time.

It's times like these you are most thankful for your friends.

We've been thinking about you Charley and Charlie Cat too...there isn't much we can say to make things all better, although we wish that there was...the one piece of advice we can offer you is this, never give up hope, even when or if everyone else does...life is a mystery and no one can say for sure just what will happen...so believe in your heart, with all your heart that things will improve...never loose your faith...and in the end, you just may be surprised...

P.S.

If you need assistance in finding accomidations for Charley's disability, please let me know, I can ask the two doctors at work about the resources which may be available in your area. My bosses (the doctors,) head up the moderate to severe disabilities program and are very active in the field, which makes them a great resource...

"Finally Friday" is right! And not a day too soon, either!

We will continue our purring and praying for both Mommy ML and Daddy Charley ... and of course all your little friends who will (we hope) help dispel the sense of aloneness. Nothing like a nice, soft, purry kitty to help one's outlook and health, we think.

purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs...

We are sending BIG purrs to all of you. We hope everything falls into place soon.
Should you decide to read ,Mom recommends "My Stroke of Insight" bu Jill Bolte Taylor. She is a brain scientist who had a stroke at 38. It took 8 years to recover.
It sounds like your Charley is getting great care and we pray for a good recovery where his memory is concerned :)

Oh I love my blankie so very much! Today I am showing it off in my newest sleepy spot...of course I am dreaming of you guys and wishing you a peaceful weekend. I know there are many scairty things to think and worry over. But you have your daddy Charley home with you and that is the most important thing that he gets all the help and comfortable things in the house her needs. That makes it better for you too.
My special tiny friend Normie has his daddy in heaven with him now...that breaks my heart but I am happy for their reunion.
All our love for you on this Mother's Day dearest ML!

How I wish I could be there to help, to guide, to assist.
Every one of those "things" is already in our home; every one of
those "helpers" come and go. But
it is still fresh in my mind what
a huge and scary time it can be,
and what a major life adjustment.
My prayers remain with all of you.

I so wish I was your neighbor. I could help with something. I'm sure you're still in shock, try to take a little time and breath deep. Can you get someone from the Drs. office to speed thing up as far as help is concerned? You are in my thoughts all the time. Wish I could send more than virtual hugs.
