I had no idea really of the fund raisers going on for Charlie Taylor. Or it didn't really "hit" me until I received $$$ in my Paypal Account today. Thank you.
Charlie Taylor will see the vet later this week to check his lungs and refill the meds. This time I don't have to worry about the cost. He appears to be thriving. He wants to play. PLAY! He chases my hair, pulls it, to wake me up.
Big Charley (hubby) isn't doing as well. He is finally realizing how very sick he was and that he might not have recovered. He can tell his mind was affected and also his left leg, paralyzed from the first stroke, is much worse. The foot turns sideways and he can barely walk. He's going to see Dr. Bob later this week and find out what can be done.
Having this money to cover Charlie Taylor's bills has relaxed Charley so much, just knowing this next round at the vet is covered. Thank you for that.
And I truly did not mind selling things to raise the money. We had a little fund, Big Charley wanted to buy me a diamond wedding ring. We've been putting a few dollars away monthly towards doing this. As Charlie Taylor's bills grew and grew, I knew we had to do something. So we closed the account and took the money to Dr. Smith. Immediately I knew in my heart it was the right thing to do. I would much rather see that sweet little Charlie face, smiling at me, than have anything else. The plan now is to find a band, maybe with a few small cubic zirconias, but there is no rush.
If anyone is interested, I still have items listed on Amazon for sale, mostly electronics and DVD's. The things I'm selling are gently used -- we take good care of our stuff -- and I purposely priced them lower so they would sell right away.
Dr. Smith saved Charlie Taylor four separate times. She would no sooner get him recovered from one crisis than another would happen. He spent days -- weeks -- in an incubator at $150 a day. He had three ultrasounds at about $800 each. Plus drugs, plus hospital care, etc. etc. etc.
Thank you so much.
BTW, here is Dr. Kathleen Smith's info...
will get her current email Wednesday morning...

ML, you know that we would do anything in the world for you.
You do so much for us, so relax and let us do for you!
Nobuddy deserves it more than you!
It was not a chore but a pleasure to help. I have not been on blogger very long, but have read back a lot. You are a star and deserve all our help.
I hope things now pick up a lot.
Hugs GJ xx
ML, What we give is so very small compared to all you give. We're glad some of the pressure if off you and Daddy Charlie. It's wonderful that Charley Cat is feeling well enough to play and purr. He's saying thank you in his special way. And tell Dr. Smith we think he must be very special to give such great care to Charlie Cat when so many would not. Do you have an email for Dr. Smith? We would like to thank him too.
Charlie is PLAYING? What great news!
ML, You and Charley are very tender-hearted to think Charlie cat is worth more than a diamond band. (Some humans would kill for one.) Life is certainly more valuable than things. We're so glad you aren't having to shoulder the entire load for Charlie's vet bills. We were all hoping he would make it!
You're an amazing woman, ML! We are so thrilled to hear that Charlie Cat wants to play and is thriving. It is all because of you!
We hope Charley recovers very soon. We are sending him healing vibes.
Could you let us know your amazon store??

Mum says cigar bands work as rings too. Don't smoke the cigar first to be good to your health.
