Since Charlie Cat went to The Bridge, Smokey has been sleeping with me every night. Here's a picture from this morning... that's Sol right behind him.Smokey actually sleeps on me, this was taken after I pushed him off to take the photo.
Smokey tries to come up and sleep right where Charlie slept, it is just the sweetest thing.

Smokey, I know how bad you miss Charlie Cat. I still miss my brother Grady who went to the Bridge 2 years ago. It will never be the same without him. But, I know that he is at the Bridge waiting for me to join him one day, which the thought of makes Mom cry.
It's always hard to lose someone you love so very much. Hugs and purrs to you.
Smokey misses Charlie, all of them do, but he is being so sweet to think about me. Charlie was the only cat who slept with me every night and sat in my lap.
We haven't gotten to lap sitting yet, but Smokey does pay extra attention to me. I'd be crying and these little Smokey-whiskers would come and tickle my face.
After that, he started sleeping by me or on me every night.

We didn't know Charlie, but we are so sad to hear about him. Smokey, we know you are trying to comfort Mommy as well as getting comfort from her.

Purrhaps Charlie Cat asked his bro-furs to look after their mum while he had to see about things at the Bridge. Smokey has taken on Charlie Cat's Guardian Angel Wings for Their Lady!
The Royals knew to comfort Queen Mum when She was just out of hospital. All three touching QM. Queen Emily lay on QM's feet, Princess Mari curled behind Her knees and of course The Prince at QM's head, sharing the same pillow. Where QM went, the Royals followed.
