Monday Mighty KC

Down here in the Gulf Coast area, Spring is marked by the onset of big roaches.
Once in the house, they tend to run or fly at people with their wings buzzing.

This happened a few nights ago.
A very large roach was running across the floor at me.
I let out a loud shriek.
My three big mancats, normally protector cats, took one look, turned and ran.
Missy was already watching from the top of a tall cat tree.
The normally up-for-anything Faith Boo saw the boys leave and also ran.
I stood there, frozen, watching this big noisy bug approach.

Suddenly, a dainty little waif of a kitten swooped down,
gently scooped the offensive creature up in her paws,
chomped it in two pieces,
dropped it back in front of me.
Then she delicately hopped back up to her sleepy place.
But not before giving the boys a withering look.
I turned and saw five cat heads hang in shame.

Well done, KC.

It's not the size of the cat in the fight,
It's the size of the fight in the cat.

Good job KC. Mom doesn't like those nasty bugs either. She scoops them up and flushes them away before we can get them.

YAY, KC!!!!!!!!!! You and our Shelly appear to be a lot alike....she is tiny (all 8 pounds of her) compared to us boys, but she thinks she can whip us both if we don't mind our p's and q's!!!!!!!

And living in South Texas, we totally understand about the roaches....including those BIG ones.

We send y'all our love.

I too live in the Houston area and had to dispose of two this past week. I have to get to them before Jack, my youngest does. He will run up, snatch it in his teeth and run away to play with it....even under my bed! I fussed at him for this. The next morning he was posed beside the "body" which was carefully placed by the bathroom door. His expression was one of pride and competence...'see Momma, I didn't let it get away and scare you again.....
And so it goes in Houston,

Oh, KC, you are welcome to come visit us any time. We don't see many of those big flying roaches here but we've seen a few and Jan screams too. Must be a human thing. We just watch.

Well done, KC!

Last summer, two small garden snakes had the misfortune of finding their way inside. The snakes didn't stand a chance against us four hunter cats. We also caught our share of crickets as well.

Yea, KC saved the day. Mom can imagine what they look like. Years and years ago she was in Florida on a trip with her parents and when they rented a motel she looked under the bed and there was a big bug. She had to have her Dad get rid of it before sleeping. After that during the trip she always looked under the bed before sleeping. She said Florida really grows big bugs. They were along the coast. Good for you KC Mom thinks you are a brave kitty to save your Mom. Hope you are feeling much better now.

Yay, KC!! You go.

Reminds me of my days living in Florida, where they grow their roaches big. Must be something about that warm climate . . .

Sounds like you'll have no problems with KC on the lookout.

Mom says she has huge roaches at work (2-3"), and she scoops them up and puts them outside. Her co-workers don't like that very much. We only have flies here at home, but we love to chase those. Mom doesn't know what we would do with a giant roach.

Cody and Gracie

PS - we hope that KC's bug chomping skills means she's feeling better.

Oh KC you are a hero. Those bugs are the worst. Our Mom hates them too. We sure hope this means that KC is feeling a little better. Too funny everyone else disappearing. Hope all of you have a fun day.

Well 'acourse KC deaded that bug with fearless efficiency! She's a mighty valkyrie-cat! She's not afraid of some silly bug!

We'd all like it if you could all come over and play! The OTW has a LOT of boxes to get destroyed and she could use the distraction of trying to keep all of us out of trouble, because the same day she found out about her sister-in-law (and the tsunami and Mickey, one of her favourites, going to the Bridge), she also found out her Viking gotcha parents are splitting up. She's really worried about the Big One because she can't help him, and she can't go and help mum and Da either and she's been kinda sitting around doing nothing at all a lot instead.

We invented a new game to play with our rolly thing (like your StarChaser but no lights) we can teach you. We bet you'll like it a lot!
