What a Day! Really Fankful Friday!

Smokey in a rare quiet moment, sleeping by my bed in his basket.

I have always believed things happen for a reason.
That something good can come out of everything
and that sometimes it is up to you to find it.
Even after I fell and was told my spine was fractured,
I wondered what good could possibly be found.

First, an update on the fracture.
I had more x-rays today.
There is a slight chance the fracture may not be as bad as first thought.
It might be a greenstick fracture,
which is much more painful, but not as threatening.
We won't know until we get the radiologist's report.

Now here's that good part... sort of!
He found pre-existing severe neck problems.
And yes, the neck condition could be triggering migraines!
He scheduled an MRI next week to get a better look.

And more news that starts with a quick look back.
Up until a few years ago, I thought all my close family was gone.
One night about four years ago, while looking on the internet,
I found listings for my father's sister
living near Dallas where we grew up.
I took the research as far as I could on my own,
then I called on The Taylor CatSSSSS's Mom Deb
to use her paralegal powers.
Within an hour I was speaking to my Aunt Dorothy on the phone.
And so our relationship began again, after so many years.
Last night Aunt Dorothy had a surprise for me...
she wants to buy us a house where we can live together!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

My Aunt Dorothy is just amazing, she is so much fun to talk to. She reads constantly, mostly non-fiction, and loves to travel.
She wants to take a trip around the world, which I am hoping we can do via the TV set. And perhaps some Texas day trips.
The kitties will have their own room, and be confined there, especially at first.
I am looking forward to setting up my own Whole Foods style kitchen, somewhat like I have here.
Aunt Dorothy does not like to cook, it will be so much fun to have someone to cook for; Charles is strictly a junk-foodie.

Wow indeed!

First, paws crossed that the fracture really isn't as bad as first thought and that the neck problems, once resolved, will eliminate the migraines.

Second, that is SO COOL about your Aunt Dorothy! Both that you found her and that she'd like to buy a house and share it with all of you! Amazing!

Woohoo! How wonderful to have no more migraines (they are awful, Mary Lou tells me) in your future and Aunt Dorothy gets hugs and kisses from us for being so sweet to all of you (even if all she reads is non-fiction--maybe we can convert her!)

Take care and have a great weekend!

We hope the MRI identifies what problem is so they can fix it and that the fracture is less severe than was thought.

Your Aunt Dorothy sounds like fun... hope that all works out for you all.

ML!!!!!!!!!!! The neck is what causes our mama the type migraines she has.......she has to be so careful of her posture so things in her neck don't get pinched....and it's not good posture by any means!!!!!!!

What wonderful news about your Aunt Dorothy.........will that mean you'll be moving to Dallas????? Why not a new place, like San Antonio???????

Love, love, love y'all.

Queen Mum is smiling so hard, Her face looks like it's about to fall off!
As you mentioned, all things happen for a reason...We are excited your back will respond to treatment, and even better, finally a serious treatment for the Curse you've been living under with those migraines!
Catching up with your Aunt Dorothy will take priority now, instead of sick headaches. Such a Blessing, truly.
Love you all!

We hope it's just a greenstick fracture, even though we don't know what it is! Will the new house have lots of places to run and pounce and whap and get tummy rubs?

KC, I knew a silly little chronic URI can't keep you down! I'm sorry you have take medicines forever though. I hate taking medicines.

Is it warm there? Can I come visit? Can I come visit even if it isn't warm?

What amazing news to get - both about a possible cause for your migraines, and your aunt. Our uncle M broke his back many years ago in a car accident, and had to wear a brace for a long time, but he is all healed now. We are purring that you will heal soon too.

What wonderful news about your back, that it might not be as bad as first diagnosed, even though any back pain in just that painful, and that you may ( no, WILL) become migraine free in the future. I had them for years and then after I got through the dreaded menopause they stopped.
What a neat thing to happen, finding your Aunt Dorothy! And to get to move into a new home all together. I lived in Dallas back in the early 70's and loved the climate and the people. But I was always a Yankee to the ones who had been born there! LOL! Wishing you a smooth move and that Aunt Dorothy will love the kitties too!

We are sorry we have not been by to leave a comment, but our internet connection has been out for several days straight now with intermittent service for several weeks. We hope it is fixed, we are keeping our paws and whiskers crossed.
