Name the Baby Cat Challenge

Little Baby Cat is fitting in so well with all the Sherwood Cats.
Now we need to give her a proper name.
This post will be open for comments and suggestions all week long.
The top five or ten names will be selected on Friday.
The final decision will be made on Sunday
OR we may put it to a CB vote.
And there will be prizes.
~Mom ML, KC & Baby Cat

2/28... I've been looking at all the suggestions... you all are GOOD!
It is going to be really difficult to pick one!

I think I said it in another comment on a different post of yours, but I think she has gorgeous china blue eyes so I'd submit the name China or Chyna for her.

Or other shades of blue.. There's a Tiffany blue, Tiffany is nice. Or Maya blue or Majorelle blue or Brandeis blue or Denim blue.. I think I'm obsessing on her beautiful blue eyes! lol

Evangeline ("Good news")

Longfellow wrote a poem called Evangeline, that calls the stars 'the forget-me-nots of the angels' Her eyes are the colour of forget-me-nots.

The latin name for forget-me-not means 'Mouse's ear' :)

I know we haven't blogged in ages, but we saw this email, and our mom wanted us to suggest the name Nikita. Baby Cat looks like a little girl at the shelter here, and her name is Nikita - she just thinks that name fits!

Love, Fuzzy and Zoe

Fr. Tom Fish said...

We love her eyes, too, but it's her overall look that put us under her spell. She's all silvery and beautiful, so we want to suggest the name "Tinsel."

What about taking a page out of Beyonce's book? She named her new baby girl "Blue Ivy".

You could just call her Ivy for short.

Or another take on that is "Blue Ivory", because Baby Cat has blue eyes and an ivory coat.

I just love Babby Cat and I have gotten used to calling her BC. So I am suggesting that this might be in the running. I am so glad that Babby Cat has adopted you and she is now ready to go the next step with you as her furever family

Ok I am sending this from work , I am Frostin's mom. The first name that came to mind for me is ghost. I am not sure why but that is what I see when I look at baby Katt. She appeared at your door out of no where and stayed put.

Us4 Cats said...

We like Sky.

She reminds us of what we see when we look into the sky;
white, silver and blue ☺

The Taylor CatSSSSS said...

We like the name "Nora"!

Kjelle Bus aka Charlie Rascal said...

I think Frances would be a good name , after Frances "Baby" Houseman in the movie Dirty Dancing.
You know nobody put´s Baby in the corner :)

Daisy said...

Well, she kind of reminds me of the beautiful mancat Lolo (Lautrec) who had to go to the Bridge. Since she is a girl, I would say Lulu instead of Lolo!

Anonymous said...

are we crazy for wanting you to stick with calling her Baby Cat? for some reason, we just love it!

MISS PEACH ~(^.^)~ said...

We think Baby looks like Casper so I would call her Casperina!

Quinn and Angel brandi said...

Okay. This is what mama calls me sometimes, and I would gladly give it up: Baby Kitty.
I'm 19 years old, and I still answer to that.
When I want to.

We want to share one of the names Mom Paula was considering for a new kitten - Nutmeg! We think it blends in with the coloring of her coat.

Truffle and Brulee

Ellen Whyte said...

"Frankie" or "Frankey" for her blue eyes in the memory of Old Blue Eyes Sinatra.

Or maybe Freya or Freia because she is a love goddess???

Such a little miss mischief! You can see it in her eyes that she knows she rules.

Cory said...

So many awesome names have been suggested that we can't think of any others right now. Baby Cat is such a sweetheart!

Laura and Taffeta Rose said...

We would suggest Sapphire or possibly Sara Jane or Emily. These are the names that came to us when we thought about her and what name she would like.

Criz Lai said...

She has the eyes in the shade of CYan like the Mediterranean Seas and loves being treated like an emPRESS~ "CYPRUS" would be a great name for her as the name rhymes with CYPRESS, a hardy plant that has a history for longevity against all types of natural pressures. :)

How about Baby Blue or Skye (for her sky blue eyes)?

Mark's Mews (Marley, Lori, Loki, and Binq) said...

We suggest "Boo"!

ZOOLATRY said...

We were going to suggest SKYE, but it has already been offered ... we'd also consider HOPE.
This adorable little lady hoped for a new home and found one; ML hoped she would be healthy and she is; KC hoped she would get along with all the other kitties and she has! She gives HOPE that all other lost, abandoned or homeless kitties will find what she has ...

We likes the name Bonnie Blue that Brian suggested. We always loved Bonnie Blue Butler in GWTW.

Sabrina, Sam and Simon said...

We like the name Bonnie Blue too!!!

Tia and Millie said...

Oh, oh, oh, oh! Guess what! I got called baby too when I was a teeny weeny kitten! Honest I did! But I's not a baby any more so the human can't clal me that now even though she does and I still say weeeeow! when she does, but I tell her I's not a babycat no more!

The human says what about calling her Victoria? She'd like to call one of her future cats that, but it ties in so well with the blue theme without being too obvious, given that Victoria was blue blooded!

Smoochies

Millie, and my boring old mummycat, Tia

Oh! Just thought of one more thing! My grannycat was a blue tortie tabby Persian, and her pedigree name was Blue Lagoon! My human's laughing cuz she says when she's naughty you can just call her goon for short!

Hey, we read that it is Missy Blue Eyes' birthday, so we came over to wish her the bestest and happiest day ever. :) Hugs!

We are back to put our choice in again:

Nora

We love the name. What do you think?????

Clarissa said...

How about Sweet Judy Blue Eyes? It's a play on Suite: Judy Blue Eyes, a song by Crosby, Stills, Nash.

How about Sarah Blue? Sarah means "lady" or "princess" in Hebrew.
Marian in Houston

Jans Funny Farm said...

Baby's gotcha story reads like a nursery rhyme. She came to the ball, net the "prince" and the glass slipper fit. So we were thinking of Cindy Ella for her name.

Jacqueline said...

She is such a gorgeous girl!...We like Sapphire or Skye or Blue...Happy weekend, friends...xoxo...Calle, Halle, Sukki

She looks exactly like a baby I used to have. He had three other siblings and all of them looked exactly the same. After 3 of them left to live with other families, we decided to keep the last baby. He didn't have a name, so we just kept calling him "baby" and that became his name. I think that is just the perfect name for this "Baby" :)

Meowmepurr's Mumma said...

You could keep it simple--Baby Blue Eyes. She's used to "Baby," and it is a little play off Missy.

Marilynn said...

Her coloring reminds me very much of Missy's -- I'd call her Baby Missy!!
