Project 2996 - We Remember - 9/11/2010

I am honoring Madelaine "Amy" Sweeney, a flight attendant aboard American Airlines Flight 11 on September 11, 2001. Normally, she would have been off duty, but had agreed to work an extra shift to help a sick friend. She and all passengers and crew were killed when the plane was slammed into the North Tower of the Trade Center.

Amy died relaying the last information from Flight 11 to American Flight Services Office in Boston via an air phone.
Sweeney: “Something is wrong. We are in a rapid descent . . . we are all over the place.
Woodward asked Sweeney to look out the window to see if she could determine where they were.
Sweeney responded: “We are flying low.We are flying very, very low. We are flying way too low.
Seconds later she said, “Oh my God we are way too low.
The phone call ended.

Amy was survived by her husband, Michael, a police officer, and two children.

We also honor hero Officer Thomas Michael Langone, click here for the post.

We will never forget the heroes of September 11th, 2001

What is Project 2996?
Project 2,996 is a tribute to the victims of 9/11.
Each year we will honor them by remembering their lives,
and not by remembering their murderers.

Thank you for your tribute to Project 2996 and the very nice remembrance on this somber day. Prayers for those who died, those who served and those whose mission is to prevent this from ever happening again.

What a beautiful post. I'll Never Forget because my Pop worked 5 blocks from the WTC and he co-wrote my blog commemorating something we all wish had never happened.
