I brought 007 inside the house on Friday evening, September 11, 2010.
We shared a wonderful weekend together,
all because he left a gift of a dead mousie on my door step.
I had been feeding him for a few weeks, but this was the first gift he brought.
He loved Temptations so very much.
He had all the Temptations he could eat.
Plus baked chicken and Fancy Feast and baby food.
And Missy Blue Eyes generously let him borrow her Blue Gizzy Quilt.
He would not leave it, he loved lying on it.
He never met his brofurs and sisfurs, but he could smell them on the quilt.
In between snacking, he told me how much he loved to be petted.
Every time I was near him, he would reach out with his big paws and pull my hand to his head.
He especially loved having his ears skritched.
I spent hours in the bathroom with him, petting him till he finally began to purr.
This is the last photo of 007 taken late Sunday night.
We had been having skritches and Temptations, mostly skritches,
and he fell asleep under my legs, on "his" Blue Gizzy Quilt.
I didn't move for hours, didn't want to wake him up, he looked so peaceful and relaxed and content.
Early Monday September 13th I took him to the Houston Cat Hospital,
so full of hope for my new kitty.
About noon they called and said 007 was extremely ill and could not be saved.
He was helped to the Bridge that day,
lying on "his" Blue Gizzy Quilt,
loved and cuddled by Dr. Smith and her excellent, caring staff.
But 007 went to the Bridge knowing he had a forever home,
a human and brofurs and sisfurs who adored him.
I have nothing of his to remember him by...
all his toys, the carrier, dishes, the Gizzy Quilt,
everything had to be destroyed.
But his ashes are home now and I have our memories.
007, you really mattered to ML & The Sherwood Bunch!
We miss you!
Thanks to Miss Peach and Karla for this beautiful graphic and sentiment.

we are so happy he is home in his forever home. He mattered so much and he knew so much love. Thank you mommyML for being the wonderful wonderful mommy that you are.
That is a lovely tribute--and he will be in your heart forever so what else does he need to leave behind?
This made me and my human sad all over again. Although perhaps we should be happy instead, that 007 ended his life being loved and cared for instead of on the streets. He had a hard life, but in the end he got lucky. And I think that is the important part.
SOB SOB> We can't talk more.
How utterly sad! Too sad for words.
We are glad he is back home where he belongs. It's too bad you don't have something tangible of his to hold...Mama kept Joey's collar & has his tag on her keychain.
We are thinking of you & crying with you.
I do like what Cheysuli said...
007 will be in my heart forever, so what else do I need?
Thanks, Chey.
007 was so lucky to have so much love, we know he's watching over you all from the bridge.
Ohhhhhhhh, =(
We are sad, here, but also happy that you have his ashes home with you. What a lovely post you made for him, and what marvelous photos. See! You have these magnificent photos for memories, too.
{{{{hugs}}}}
That made my eyes leaky. I am just grateful that 007 finally found love at last, and that he is back in his Forever home, where he belongs.
At least 007 knew love at the end...he will not be forgotten...purrs to you...
It is so sad that 007 went to the bridge, but wonderful he found you and had a little time knowing love and comfort and the promise of a forever home with siblings!
We're all leaky eyed here. We know 007 and Sniffie are friends at the Bridge.

We're so sorry he was with you only a short time, but glad he was so loved and that he's home with you now. (((Hugs)))
The loving tribute and having his ashes home shows the love he had, even though it was way to brief.
We're glad that he is now back home with you, where he belongs.
So sorry you had to lose this beautiful baby; 007 was very lucky to have your love and comfort in the days leading to his passing...Amazing how quickly these lovely creatures touch our hearts and leave their paw prints forever on our souls...Sending much love and big hugs...J, Calle, Halle, Sukki
We're so glad 007 is Home. All of us want to say how smart he was to leave you that mouse; he'd found the perfect place to stay, forever.
Read this again and it really makes me cry.
Bless you for all the love you gave 007 in his last days.

Oh but he did leave something behind of his, he left his pawprint on your, and our, hearts! We wish he could have stayed longer but at least he knew a home and love before he left. Thank you, ML, for giving a sick kitty one last weekend of love and a forever home to rest in.
I am so gad that 007 is back with you. He knew ou loved him and he knew he had a new home. That is a wonderful thing that he knew that before he had to go.. Hugs GJ xx
It sounds like he must have had a family at some point in his life. So glad he sought you out to spend his last hours with. Sometimes that is all you can give and it is enough.
We are glad he came home to his forever home. We didn't know he had come to live with you for the shortest amount of time, we just read your older posts.
007 will be with you forever and will be loved forever...
Lots of purrrs, Keiko, Kenji, Pricilla & Yuji
Awwww!!! What a wonderful tribute to 007!!! We are so glad you took him in and kept his last days loving anf safe!! You are a wonderful CatMommy ML!!
((((((HUGGGGSSSSS))))))) from your TX furiends,
Your most made me cry, honestly. I don't own any cats, but I own two dogs and reading your post just made me wonder how I would feel in your situation.
I am so sorry for your loss, but I also read the post with the pics of the ashes and certificate. But you gave him his forever home!
